I was about to give up on defeating the Infected Broodmother until I saw this video! this video really helps. With this build I was able to defeat the IBM first try! Me and my group managed to beat her on our first try purely thanks to our pets. I'm not sure if people know this, but if you bring a pet into the fight, the Broodmother will sometimes attack the pet, and since the pet is immortal, it's basically an immortal decoy. Thanks to this I was able to revive my friends pretty safely, since the Broodmother was busy attacking my pet.

Yeah, this isn’t a thing anymore I don’t think. Just tried it last night with my friend and we died cause she was relentlessly attacking us. Granted we weren’t really prepared since we wanted to go in blind. But yeah, don’t think this is what it does anymore, IBM didn’t seem to pay the pets any attention

I know this is 1.3 and the game updated a lot but it helped me beat this boss at 1.4. I want to sincerely thank you for this. I got maxed scimitar and armor. Didnt have most mutations so I used blademaster tier 1. I was on mild cuz I’m a new player I just started playing 2 weeks ago. Died alt at the boss before watching this video after watching this video and using the weapon and armor and drinks, I managed to beat it! The shield helped a lot too I partied like crazy. I cried when I beat the boss cuz I couldn’t believe it TY!

for the first phase i recommend using rascal rogue mutation and sticky fingers trinket because then you have a better chance to nab the infected brood-mothers trinket and or 2 bits of extra loot. (only worth it for the trinket fr) also thanks for the guide it helped a a lot for sure👌

Okay, so I suck at this and had given up on beating the IBM until I saw it was one of the Burg.L quests in 1.4 so thought I would give it a another try. This build . . . first try. OMG. And I probably only had a 50% perfect block rate. Thank you so much. Now just a few more cheevos for 100% on 1.4!

Tried fighting the IBM with my husband today for the first time and it absolutely annihilated us. We had good gear but were significantly underprepared resource-wise. Best we did was to barely make it to the beginning of the final phase on our fifth go at it before we decided we both needed a break. Definitely plan on trying the termite armor in the future (as well as the giddy goop trinket if we can ever find it) if we ever go back to it.

Tried this build for the past couple days on Woah! and sadly I cannot beat Infected Broodmother. I can get to phase 3 but they added a move for her in update 1.4 & 1.4.1. She lobs a explosive sac right behind you and you get about one or two seconds to react. Otherwise she gets you from front and the explosion from the sac is instant kill. I'm still trying to get the win but a lot of people in the chats and community I'm in agree they gave her way to crazy of a buff in the Yolked update.

Brooooo! I have been trying to beat the IBM for a couple hours now, 15+ attempts. Watched this video and beat it first try, no joke. 4 major things...termite armor, giddy goop, spider slider, and sticky soothing syrup. I did not use a shield. You get so many attacks in on phase two and prevents it taking so long so you dont have a lot of debuffs in stage 3. Also, positioning, that spot is so good. I previously was chasing her down to keep her out of the pool and it never worked cause that side jump attack. I also was using the fungal charm. It's pointless when you are in that spot. Forgot to peep. Off to face her again.

My first time fighting her, I had the Widow dagger, bleed, build. BUT I had nothing maxed at all. only lvl 6 on BM mask, lvl 6 widow shoulder, and I think I actually wore my level 6 aphid slippers. Thought she was soooooo hard. died like 8 times. Eventually learned the fight and won. Looking at this, I had no idea how unprepared I was. She was destroying me in seconds. I also didn't know about the shield thing with the scream. So i ended up taking even longer to fight her. I think I just had the spider slider buff, and the crow bed buff. Smoothies was just Beefy Fuzz on the rocks and green machine. xD. I cannot tell you how insane I found this fight to be. Now I know so much better of the game, but at the time. Lord. I actually found this fight oppressive🤣🤣

This video kind of helped me understanding p2 better and i consistently reach p3 relatively easy (sometimes getting 2 stacks or even 4, but mostly 0) but from this point on, it feels like pure terror, when you get 1 time behind on her scream/jump/5 attack,. whatever combos, you wont catch up, if your getting hit by a bomb on top = goodbye i cant figure out the block patterns hm, i just dont know why i mistime my blocks :/ build i got with the same stuff as well

When I first tried her (today), I got really lucky as I stole her trinket from her, as well as summoning The Mant multiple times. However it was her 'blasted' 2nd phase with all the bombs and dust when I just couldnt get any realy damage in.

Yeah shields make you do less damage now so it will take longer. Either that or you can un-equip your shield but that’s pretty risky

@@paraly5er Yeah, I managed to beat her not too long after my comment thankfully. I found the Fungal charm that reduces Explosive Damage taken to be really useful for me. But once she was in her 2nd and 3rd phases I kept my shield out at all times, and just spent the time.

@@paraly5er it took me ages to find the information. Clubs do 140. Rusty spear 190. So you guys are correct. I thought it was a multiplier. But it’s just flat figures… based on what I found spiky sprig is just as powerful as mint mace thrown??!? 140?? So basis that, probably easy to clear out the game with tier 1 weapons only by throwing spiky sprigs. I can’t see anything that level boost, or changing status will increase damage at all while throwing. Is that your understanding?

You really wanna use a toenail scimitar. Just grab the 4 in the ashtray, wait a few days for them to respawn, get them again. If you can kill black widows, there's 2 in the widow cave south of the castle playset also.

Yeah he used fresh on his sword and kill fireflies to get the giddy goop. Also use the mutation dissection expert when killing fireflies so that you have a better chance at getting giddy goop as its a rare drop. Hope this helps!

Top left, termite nest for tier 3 axe and then get tier 3 gear

if you’re on woah and not prepared for termites you can use the black ox in the area to clap em and get the termite axe then you can go for fire ant armor for early upper yard

Dissection expert, rascal rogue, gum trinket and rub a stuffed firefly for maximum chances

Rascal Rogue and Gum Trinket only work with melee, and they give you the best chance to get it. If you use ranged, the only way you can eventually get it is from the remains, with 1% chance. (I know you probably already have the answer, but I'm adding this for whoever reads your question and is expecting the information in the replies)

well, i've tried multiple times, can get through the first two fights no prob, but the finale does me in. like i have all these bandages and smoothies, but i hardly get a chance to even take them, and then when i do it takes so long that she's attacking me through the animation. if i block and fight through that animation does it cancel out my fighting progress? because it seems like i take all those health things but my health never goes up. i don't understand how to get through this if you can't perfect block every time, which i will probably never be able to do, partly because i'm trash, partly because by that final fight i can't see anything. really frustrated. any further advice?

If you’re in a controller make sure to change it so you can use one of the dpad buttons to heal rather than bringing up the hot wheel. Also you can block right after using heals and it won’t affect you negatively in any way. Keep practicing and you will get there, took me a while to get it down too

Place your shield in the hotbar then press the slot where the shield is to re-equip / un-equip. Para has created a buttonbind to do this on console

Is there an internal cooldown for the giddy goop/termite armor debuffs? I swear it's only on this boss like 10% of the time, and I hate when I just applied it and she gets two slow attacks and then the next three are her normal fast attacks. Also, does the Yoked Blows from Trapper Peep.r and Scythe of Blossoms stack?

Goop effect always applies on third hit of combo, termite chest is a chance to proc (10%)

from glow bugs that only appear at night. You will need to attack and kill these bugs to get it.

If you have ORC receivers you can do ominent raids with the waft emitter. There is a chance for that to spawn ORC fireflies which drop the trinket.

There is a spot where fireflies spawn in the gutter, if you build up to it, you can farm fireflies during the day, i would recommend the sticky fingers trinket and the rascal rogue mutation equipped.

Also you can bring in repair items if that’s you issue. 👍🏽 either repair glue or if your armor is low level the the big parts to repair your armor or shield. But honestly you should be using at least tier 7 or above to fight this boss. 👍🏽💙

Mate. This isn't a guide to fighting her... It's just a guide to preparing for the fight... What are her combos, what movements do we look for for each attack to be able to block them? Where exactly are you standing? Pompous fight where you just talk about how good at the game you are and how easy this boss fight is... I'm disappointed mate...

I literally talk about where to stand. I talk about keeping her out of the water. I find when it comes to parrying it's all about practice. Telling someone what to look for in attacks isn't really going to help, you'll be dead before you remember which attack she is doing, it's all muscle memory in my opinion.

Did you even try it? I was struggling to get more than a quarter into stage 3. Used this build and beat it first try. I used...sleek fire ant helm and legs with sleek termite armor. Fresh toenail schemitar. All lvl9. Giddy goop. Blade master, corp kick, coup de, shock dism, trap peep. Black ox and spider slider ate right before starting battle. Then drinking sticky soothing and sticky liquid rage after starting and right after stage 2. Staying in the spot he suggests, giddy goop, and term armor are key though. Sticky smoothies I think are also.
