shields have a pretty big damage debuff now though, i don’t know the exact number but for me on ng+4 it was way easier without the shield

20% less dmg with a shield equipped. Trinkets practically mitigate the debuff however at the cost of a slower fight.

Helllow, few week ago I was grinding IBM and I found something interesting. There is trinket called shield ... somethig (that one with old upgrade plate texture) after putting it on it dubbles your shield block strenth, but there is bug there. If you block over your normal block strentch, swap trinket to other one and back to shield one, block strentch will be back at max but of your standard. I dont know if you understand me but, there is or at least was bug like this

Just beat Assistant Manager in my first playthrough, what next? I'm too scared to go to the antlion tunnels with level 5 ladybug armour so I feel like roly poly armour might be the way to go but I'm not sure.

you HAVE to try an Ant Queen Staff build, I think it ignores defense or something. And also, have a Baby Ant with you (on medium or mild) in order to distract the IBM from you, it has a surprisingly high priority value.

@@tuningbytokyo try going either for a pure defense build or have smoothies+damage resist cone, I have killed over 10 NGP1 IBMs with this strat (I needed the armour, as I had never fought the IBM before AT ALL) and have also killed like, 4 NGP2 IBMs with this strat

I tried your build, but I can’t get past the first phase. I’m playing on 'Whoa!' difficulty, and in your video, you showed that you completed it on medium difficulty. Do you have a guide for 'Whoa!' difficulty?

good video but first phase 1 and 2 you don't need a shield, it easy to perfect block all of her moves, on phase 2 the scream if you're not good at perfect block, then use the shield while she about to screams. Second, on phase 1 and 2 you still need to use dmg buff smoothy cause you want to get to phase 3 asap, food buff last longer than smoothy so you can use them before the fight. Third the Flake is nerfed but the dmg reduction from chopper mutation is stronger than the Sword Master (sword master only reduces the enemy atk dmg + no death time on exhaustion) but phase 1 & 2 we don't need that so the Flake is still the best choice. Fun fact: right now the spicy infuse is glitched, you can perfect block the dmg effect when you can time it correctly. On Whoa! mode difficulty is harder than medium mode, most of the time you will down when get 1-2 hits from phase 3

I agree with the frosted flake still being a good choice. I literally said you don't need a shield for phases 1 and 2. Damage buff helps with first 2 stages but also not needed, just makes the fight a little quicker.

@@paraly5er oh you did mention that phase 1 and 2 we don't need to use a shield. Sorry my bad, I didn't hear it properly. I'm on Whoa! mode NG+3 right now and man just imagine you make 1 mistake on phase 3 and you will have to spend like almost 4 minutes to get back to phase 3. And when I defeat her, usually I will have to reload the game like 20+ times. so the dmg buff smoothy and crit smoothy is a must for me. I don't need that many Raw Science points, I didn't dupe much of the infused upgrade stone cause when I can reach to NG+4. My weapon will be thrown away when I find a good infused weapon, that's why I usually dupe buff smoothies or even boss food for summon. Higher NG+ and with lucky mutation + lucky trinket when you looted dead infused bugs, you get more chance to have x2 infused ooze and the cone science

Green machine lets you recover stamina faster. Boost juice gives you more max stamina which I find just isn't as useful tbh, but I guess it would help with blocking attacks

what do you think about the infected ant shield instead of the ladybird shield? and one other thing, why are your mutations out of order like in 3:45?

Infected ant shield is very good although unlikely to have it in NG+1. I would use it over ladybird to be safe from explosions. Mutations are in a different order depending on when you made your world, it's annoying, I know

why do creators keep using bleed vs IBM... 60% resistant to bleeds base.. we're talking 0.1-0.4% of IBM's health (regular not infused) per second.... and the bleed procs on half of your crits.. which with this build is only 10% chance.

It's more damage. No other armor really helps deal more damage. No point in IBM since she is 90% resistant to poison and immune to venom. Using more defence is an option like mentioned in the video. Fire ant doesn't stack with more pieces. So assassin is the only thing that will increase the damage you deal to her.

@@paraly5er think you didnt get the point of my comment. the point is not using the piece at all because the damage is pointless as shown above. you're better using red ant for 2 reasons. 1. your chance to apply corrosion is doubled 2. its heavier armor so you already will take less damage both of those are far more valuable than a hundredth of a percent of damage

Yep, this biatch of a thing was far more difficult than the standard IBM. Went in prepared, undefeated against IBM, 30 minutes of repeated battles, losing everyone, went home, did a bunch of other things, went back in, another 30 minutes before I won, and then I didn’t get the IBM ooze 😡

@@paraly5er yep that's exactly it! I posted a looking for group earlier and somebody came in n tried it w me and told me a lil bit bout her mechanics. I thought the water was just drinkable for me I didn't know it gave her that many buffs so I was literally just fighting her in the water like wtf she's so strong and I'm not even on ng yet ☠️ I did defeat her after my homie left I tried it solo and bam I was good. I also had to make a bud specifically for this fight. Since I had the brood mother chest assassin helmet and widow leggings the poison/venom effect wasn't doing shit! I used fire ant legs and 2 piece assassin w the blossom scythe and the +fresh attack trinket. I used 1 boss sauce and 1 liquid rage and the rest was bandaids and regular soothing syrups used like 8 syrups and 5 bandaids lol 😆 she was pretty easy after I got the hang of it thanks for the quick response bro
