I appreciate your candor in discussing your finances, especially with regards to your KZbin business. I’ve not seen any other KZbinrs being this open about it.

Hi. Have you ever considered doing a video on Taxes and what you deduct as you are self employed as Content Creator on KZbin? I think it would be useful and interesting. Thanks. JP Porto

I’ve always wondered this as a lot of things are booked with points. I’d assume you could deduct the cash value of the points but would love to learn the specifics.

It’s incredible that by retiring and making KZbin videos about your travels that you might end up making more per year than what you did living the American life with a mortgage and all those standard expenses. Years of a daily grind replaced by doing what you enjoy at your leisure and getting paid more for it! I’m so happy for you two! Wondering if you are thinking about doing different travels now, like Europe or maybe a safari, that would be exciting to follow along. I hope to be able to join in the group community in 2025!

Hi Rob, we love your channel! I’m a huge gamer and am planning on being a future nomad. I would love to see a video from you on how you manage gaming while traveling the world. What’s your set up? And how do you feel like internet connection in Asia is like? One of my biggest worries is internet connection for online gaming because hotel internet seems to be sketchy from my previous experiences when traveling. Thank you for your content!

You don’t have to create content solely in the US. I’d be interested to see intra-Asia or intra-Europe cruises if you do them. Trains too, and not just Japan. China has almost 100,000 miles of rail network waiting to be explored.

At 45, I recently lost my job. My military pension is $9000, and I also have access to Tricare and VA healthcare. I'm thinking about traveling abroad with my money, assets, and 401(k) after selling or renting my home. Which passive income options should I be looking at?

It’s reasonable to consider getting a financial advisor now, but delaying retirement might be a wiser choice

Is it time for a career shift or should I consolidate my investments into a single account? If I go for the latter, how do I do it right, and what could be the drawbacks? Plus, with a $200K property sale on the horizon, should I combine my investments or diversify them across different markets?

These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. She’s been making investments with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. We’re holding steady and carefully navigating more markets

I am glad that you are giving an honest cost of slow travel. For me, one thing I find discouraging is that folks will say it is cheaper relative to the U.S. However, they never say what U.S. they are comparing it to. I worry that my U.S. (West Tennessee) is wildly different from a person from the West Coast or East Coast. So, what might be incredible savings for those folks may not be for me. And, there is no way to know, because I don't know through what lense they are looking at that super inexpensive country. For reference: I pay 450 a month for rent $100 utilities and $400 a month for groceries. I don't own a car, I don't eat out. Is it really cheaper for me???? I'm afraid to find out. I know you have a bigger budget than I do by far, but your numbers really scare me!

Of course, this is all at your level of points, free nights, etc. In any event, if I cut everything except housing in half, as a solo, it comes out to $2,724/mo. Way less than I expected for living in Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, etc.

@@Chris-N916 Switzerland was one of my top countries from 2024! It was insanely expensive, but the food was great, not fast food, but groceries etc lol we ate out only twice, but the first time we had 2 pizzas, a sparking water and a coke for almost 80 bucks. If not for house sitting, it would have been outside our budget.

Thank you for a great summary of your 2024 travel expenses and income. You mentioned paying $10K for 4 cruises to generate content for your KZbin cruise channel. Since content creation is your primary source of income, have you considered writing off the cost of those cruises as a business expense? I am sure the IRS would challenge it, but a clever CPA might be able to pull it off.
