slow travel is such an under-rated mode of travel. trying to get hubby to understand we don’t need to race through every place. thx for sharing your journey!!

Slow travel is the best!! 😊 It does take some getting used to the idea that we don't need to be in a hurry!

I’m shocked by your yearly costs! A week in Maui is apparently the same price as 3-6 months worth of your first year of travel. My mind is completely blown…well done on your budgets I never could have imagined traveling comfortably could be so cheap!

We've been following these two for 3 years. They gave us confidence to pull the trigger and go for it. 19 months now....4 months in South East Asia total cost was around 10,500 dollars. Everything, to include around 10 dives...6 in Bali...4 in Thailand.... Is the most liberating amazing life.... Safe travels

At 45, I recently lost my job. My military pension is $9000, and I also have access to Tricare and VA healthcare. I'm thinking about traveling abroad with my money, assets, and 401(k) after selling or renting my home. Which passive income options should I be looking at?

It’s reasonable to consider getting a financial advisor now, but delaying retirement might be a wiser choice

Is it time for a career shift or should I consolidate my investments into a single account? If I go for the latter, how do I do it right, and what could be the drawbacks? Plus, with a $200K property sale on the horizon, should I combine my investments or diversify them across different markets?

These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my husband and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. She’s been making investments with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. We’re holding steady and carefully navigating more markets

Wow! Amazing three-year summary of travels. Compared to our travel journey, you’ve covered 5 times the number of destinations for a fraction of what we’ve spent on ours and that’s outstanding. I’m hoping that one day you consider publishing a travel book on those destinations. Continued safe travels and cheers! 🍻

I started watching your KZbin channel a couple of years ago. I retired a few months ago. Although I'm not going to be traveling full time your videos have given me great inspiration. In fact, I'm leaving for Lagos Portugal in a couple of weeks for a month and then other parts of Portugal and Spain for another month. I'd never even heard of Lagos or the Algarve before watching your videos.

FANTASTIC! Wow!! Congratulations on 3 years of fabulous, travel Youtubing! I have never seen a video like this and found it SOOO helpful!! I hope you will do a video like this every year. I LIKE THE FACT THAT YOU SHARE ALL THE PLACES YOU VISITED, GENERALLY HOW LONG YOU STAYED AND HOW WELL YOULIKED THEM… AND THEN SHARED THE COST, TOO!! Please forgive all the caps. I am not sure how that happened. 😝 I was doing voice to text.

Good video. Ir was also our experience that full time travel was cheaper than living in the US. Your 2024 expenses were less than our entire year of "budget" living in mortgage free housing taking just one week vacation in Mexico and a few road trips. Do it while you can!

I remember from your videos it was hot and very muggy in Southeast Asia. One thing you didn’t mention though, how was the bug situation? Lots of mosquitoes? The ship I will be traveling on will spend months in the area. Do I have to worry about flying critters? Thanks-Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth! Great question and valid given. I'm typically sought after by bugs.... Fortunately, there really wasn't a issue in our time there at all.

How many days of the year were you traveling versus being home? That would help me with the context of the amount spent.

We include all of our expenses throughout the year, including the 3 times a year that we house sit back in the US. Our 2024 budget video that we released last week will explain that in more detail. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel! 🙂

Does the total yearly cost include: phone, health insurance, subscriptions, etc? I am pretty sure it includes all your food and entertainment/activities right? By the way, very well done! How many months did you house sit in 2023 and 2024?

Very useful information, thanks for the detail. Question you say seattle is home. Do you have a house or apt there and what are your expenses for upkeep while you are gone and when you are back in the states? trying to get a better feel of what a full year of travel would be, including the time at home
@BrianandCarrie12 сағат бұрын
Hi! Seattle area is home, but when we started travel we sold everything. So all the expenses we listed are all we spent per year. So owning a home definitely increases your yearly costs, but for many it's worth it.
@skpowerz12 сағат бұрын
would love to see these costs visually in table format, much easier to understand and compare. Also easier to know which places you are talking about because I can't understand some places you are mentioning (for example at 13.56)

Waiting for your 1 whole year of travel cost in Europe countries
@congruent-thoughts87818 сағат бұрын
It feels like you've got your jacket on, inside out most of the time. I have traveled and lived and worked for 50+ years and you have spent most of your time in the backyard in Europe. A couple of places in Italy are ok, but Turkey and Albania🙈 Best dentists by far, are in Belgrade, which we in Europe and the world are useing. Many people have problems after they were at the dentist in Turkey. I hope you got a good one. But the food is good there. Santorini and Mykonos - incredibly beautiful and gorgeous - but two incredibly expensive tourist places, because rich Europeans and Americans have bought the best places and drive up the prices. Kos and Rhodes are the two worst islands in Greece. There is low level tourism and the only places they have sold their Greek soul and you can get burgers and fries, rather than really fantastic Greek food. All other Islands are amazing. When you have lived and worked in the different countries, the difference, who makes the difference, becomes clear. Munich, probably the best German metropolis, has many fantastic places. Dubrovnik also great but Croatia is expensive nowadays. Provence / South- France and also Porto or Madeira in Portugal are incredibly beautiful areas with the best and the most real life, Europe still has.... Scotland incredibly magical. England in the countryside incredibly beautiful too. When you rent a car and explore Kent or the east coast from Dovre to the Lake district... it is the most gorgeous tour in your life but expencive now. Holland is amazing. So many unbelievable beautyful small towns. Luxembourg is cheap and beautiful. Tuscany and the west coast of Italy are incredibly beautiful. All of this is the sunny side of Europe. You were more on the shadow side, which was communist and poor or there was war, not long ago. But it is of corse your choice.

Yes, these are all our experiences, which we are incredibly thankful for. We all have different things we look for in a place we are traveling to... sounds like yours is quite different than ours 🤣

We love your cost breakdown videos, but we still can’t fathom how you are living/traveling for roughly $30k/yr. In your 2024 cost breakdown video, you said your yearly total for food (groceries: $4,228 + meals out & some entertainment: $3,486) was $7,714 for the year. That comes to roughly $10.56 per person average per day for ALL of your food and beverages. How is that possible?!!? 🧐 Gotta’ think Brian spends more than that on just beer alone. 🍻😜
@BrianandCarrie14 сағат бұрын
It’s all about making smart choices! 😊

@@BrianandCarrie 🤨 It’d be interesting to see exactly how you get your food/drink spending THAT low, esp. while traveling . . . meals out while on the move or whenever you aren’t able to (or don’t want to) cook, grocery hauls at each new stop, beverages by the beach, etc.
@BrianandCarrie13 сағат бұрын
You'll find that traveling isn't as expensive as you think. Eating a simple healthy diet and shopping at farmers' markets and local grocery stores leaves room for a beer or two on the beach! 😁🍻

33k$ for a single year? for two people? You must have been eating out of garbage cans. Everyone - Budget 50K. Brian and Carrie may be able to do it on the cheap, but I prefer to go a little more upscale. Still, travel can be done on the cheap if you know how to watch your pennies. Keep up the good work.
