1:02:20 Difficulty is set by how far you start the day. So if you want it harder, you start at 20 cards. Thats why you have the last 2 days.

This is my new favorite episode! It's a great game that implements its theme really well, and I loved that you knew the film so well that you were extending their quotes. I was right there with you and I quoted "That's one I happen to agree with" right as you guys did! I have the answer to the mystery about the number of cards for the final days being higher than the available number of cards. At higher difficulty levels, you start the groundhog further down the track, so you will have played fewer rounds by the time you reach the last two spaces, and more cards will still be in the deck.

This is really a game that embraces the theme and really puts into the mechanics. A lot of games can feel very surface level for their themes, even IP games. I'm glad they took such care with this and made a fun board game that is also faithful to a beloved movie.

Haha this prompted me to rewatch Groundhog Day today with my SO who has not yet watched it. Love the movie and the game looks really fun too. Prospero Hall is on point with these family games. Love this episode and I am glad to see the crew back together :-)

Yeah!! Lol I cheered for real when you won there. I really liked the game, and it's surprisingly thematic for a card sequencing game. I'm sure if I knew the movie better it would make it even more fun.

Mathing out the last one, there are 12 red cards, 11 of them were in the deck, after dealing, the deck was left with 3 cards, so even if all three were red, that would still leave you with 8 red cards, so unless someone boned it, you were going to win it.

I definitely like this better than The Mind. Not a fan of that game at all. This seems more of a game to me. Great video! I felt the tension!!

I think the element of using the yellow learning cards to gain more red cards makes it an interesting spin on a game like The Mind

I must admit, I seldom use the app, I find it gets a wee bit annoying, and why didn't they use the Pennsylvania Polka as is actually used in the movie? Thank God the box quality is top-notch, my copy arrived in a plastic bag, no padding, no shrinkwrap; just four stickers to keep the lid on. The corner of the box was crunched. If the quality of the box was of Castles of Burgundy's 20th Anniversary, it would have been destroyed. Being the game that it is, solo play is not possible, so Game Night on our street is tomorrow.

A potential strategy should have been use the electronic timer to your advantage... anyone could play 1 in the first 5 seconds, for the next 5 any card up to the value of 2, then 3 then 4 then five so that in the last five seconds you can play anything... it reduces the chances of a bigger jump and reduces panic.

This is up for debate, but I kinda think this goes against the spirit of the rules. Even if the game only explicitly forbids talking, signaling with your hands or your eyes (or the timer) kind of goes against the spirit of it, I think. I mean, one of the cool things in board games is that you can play however you want, so people should do whatever they like, but doing this sort of thing really ruins games like The Mind, in my opinion.

I feel like if u don't unlock any cards ur just wasting ur day and making it more difficult.

@@andrewmiller4588 bt ur getting lesser cards as well as lesser chance of getting the number and enough hearts. Maybe like unlocked 1 each day like maybe start from 1/2 round Like if ur getting 4 hearts on first day might as well unlock 1 red with 5 hearts instead.

thats one aspect i find a little disappointing is that Dave basically worked the or a strategy to win the game on first playthrough....seems it maybe a little too easy to "break" so to speak. Often games are great because they require multiple plays just to even work out a strategy
