Maybole manager's points about officials are so good. I was at a game in the division below this recently in a rough part of Scotland and the referee was getting some severe abuse from the sidelines. He was there on his own and there's no way he wasn't intimidated. He wasn't even doing badly, they just went crazy at every decision he had to make. One of the teams had a mental health message on their shirts and I wonder if people fans, players and club officials realise the impact they can have on referees. A howl of frustration at a decision is fine but we need to reign in the abuse.

Nice one. You walked right past the place where I stayed for a few days with the family in February this year, when I went to Maybole v Greenock. Loved it, but ripped my trousers on a bit of perimeter fence that was sticking out! The high street used to be really unpleasant with traffic, since they opened the much-needed by-pass it has become a very nice little place. Lovely countryside around, loads to do, I highly recommend it for a short break... built around a football game, obviously.
