I over-seeded about 15,000 sq ft and wanted to show the results after a few days. Here is the video of what happened, the conditions I had, and how the grass grew. I hope this video helps you out. Thanks!

I got this stuff and overseeded the hell out of my lawn. It all came in AFTER the winter…. But its all SUPER bright green and pretty much all rye grass. It made my lawn beautiful but it grows way too fast and becomes basically unmanageable as a shift worker. It honestly just feels like a super pretty colored bag full weeds hahaha Hey I’m northern Indiana too! Hobart. Near chicago. Cheers

Appreciate your video, with summer behind us heading into fall how did it turn out? I got a 50lb bag of Ultra Premium Tall Fescue from TSC back in July and was one of the lucky ones I guess as it was an uncoated bag. Just did my dethatch and overseed 9 days ago, got some germination in about 4 days in some areas and others not so much. Bag says 10-14 days so I’m still patient. Guess my other question is if you used the coated version how was it compared to uncoated and any experience on how the coated compares to Scott’s coated? I’ve used Scott’s coated 1-2 years ago and never again, I still find their coated seeds in my lawn from time to time it was a waste!!

Hey there. Thanks for the comment. Generally the seed did pretty well in the areas i put it. . Unfortunately about mid july i over fertilized some areas and did some damage to it and some other sections of my lawn that i now have to fix. The only other seed i have used on this property came from a private nursery. It was called quick sod i think. I don't have any experience wjth the coated seeds. I haven't decided if i want to overseed here this fall but i need to decide quickly or i will miss the time to do it. Make sure you have good contact with dirt to get good germination. I think that's where most people go wrong.

Did you happen to do any soil treatment before seeding or apply starter fertilizer after seeding? These midwest springs can throw a curveball, thanks for review. Bout only economical seed in my area that isn't full of inserts

I did not do either. Ive bought it again for another area i chenged over from a rock garden and it is working well there too.

Question.... once you reseed how many times per day should you water? I'm in San Diego CA? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
@thehandyhomeowner9781 Жыл бұрын
The correct answer is "as often ad needed " you want to keep the seed and ground from drying out. On a coold overcast week that may be two or three times. If it's warmer and sunny out maybe every day.

What about the all purpose pasture seed from tractor supply?

it seems groundwork is a waste of money

It seems to take a few days to germinate but eventually comes in pretty well.
