Also in the early 80s, likely between 80 and 83 they experimented with a mid engined Talbot Horizon to potentially replace the group 4 Sunbeam but the 205 t16 came instead.

Tuned up Sambas Rallyes were awesome bits of kit - my chum had an 8 port 1219 Samba back in the early 90s - a fabulous bit of kit - you could fling it everywhere and anywhere! 👍

I have 3 Samba Cariolets.....these little things make a lot of fun to drive but the situation to get parts is a real challenge - nevertheless, I can imagine how this little beast goes with it's weight to Power ratio 🙂Greetings from Germany

3 stud wheels were a thing on French cars back in the day. Citroen ran 3 stud hubs on lots of stuff.

It good to see this car back in the road but also a bit of shame a piece of the spanish championship is not anymore in Spain. At least it keeps original 1984 Madrid number plates

That's a gem. You'll have great fun with that one. I noticed it's set up for tar, what would it be like on gravel? Just under 700kg's, ally roll cage, with a single point of contact at the rear, probably wouldn't do to much in a big bang , if you put a car like that together today it wouldn't get past tec inspection. Why did they run it at 1219? and not bore it to 1297 ish

That is as standard, but TRX rims. Very rare Michelins to be used. Back in the days I did some rallyes with a Group N Samba Rallye. I have staring a lot on the Group B version. These cars were never real works cars, these were aimed at the satellite teams from importers (as I remember rather an obligation) and lange deslergroups.

Prior to 1984 most small to mid range Peugeot based cars ran on three stud wheels. The 205 was the first to run 4 studs.

Man hätte sich nach den tödlichen Unfällen darauf einigen können/ müssen, sich auf die kleine 1.3 l Klasse zu beschränken Das wäre der Ausweg gewesen. Dann wäre Audi 1987 halt mit einem Allrad-Polo gefahren statt mit dem Quattro S1!

The precursor to the 205 - runs a rear trailing arm beam with a strut/shock set up. Much more predictable handling on the limit than the 205/106 torsion beam . Sambas and Novas were the staple of the up to 1300 clubmans class back in the day.
