Don't hold an open flame or torch against a base like that video showed, it will likely delam or bubble the base next to the damaged area. Heat the poly coil off the board until it becomes glossy and pliable then put it in the gouge. Less direct heat to the base is better

Chris, love your take on the critique of Rav’s clip. Thank you for respecting and promoting the variety in our art/sport. The style and variety in snowboarding is something that sets it apart from others- so different than ball sports, for instance. There isn’t a fixation on textbook technique; much of it is just about individual expression and a rider’s unique interpretation or execution of a trick, which makes it such a thrilling outlet. It’s one place in life you don’t have to conform to a really specific standard to truly rip.

I think there's two types of stale with snowboarding films (especially this year). 1. Being riders having the same tricks in different snowboard parts - part of this is on the filmer/editors. But seeing the same trick from a different angle in the Brand Video vs the Crew video becomes underwhelming. 2. With all the parts being on KZbin, there's no way to differentiate the local crew project from the larger production projects. From an old head - we used to have the Standard, MDP, People, ThinkThanks, that would go to DVD or be front banner on Transworld or Snowboarder. They'd also put up the Brand edit which was usually have decent filler, and you'd have the occasional local edit that would get shine. I think with the loss of the main mag sites, there's no longer an editor to categorize where the videos belong. Not saying that some don't deserve shine, but I think context is missing.

Wahtching others freeriding bores me after a while. I prefer riding powder by myself. Watching railboarding videos where riders sliding rails over and over again are boring for mee too. Extraordinary spots and creative tricls are much more fun to watch.

I generally really like these, but this one got a little weird in a couple of ways. First, I think there's too much of defining what snowboarding is - particularly with the art talk. I'm interested in why snowboarders are such creative people, but it starts to take the edge out of the sport when we define snowboarding on every chat. Second, I think the conversation about Rav became pretentious. I think the commenters point was that they didn't see the clips as "pro quality". It doesn't matter what's on the guys resume, if the clips are not pro quality, that's his opinion. Who cares if the guy can back 9 really good if their clips are not compelling. I think those clips were sick, I just think the justification for why they were sick by this cast was incorrect and gatekeepy. Overall I'm getting tired of this format beating a dead horse and taking itself (and snowboarding) so seriously, and wish it was shorter, more clip heavy, and funnier like with BNN and the Gertkins scarves bit.

Thoses particular Rav's clips they're referring should have been a banger ig edit or like in a mid section with b rolls and fillers, but not in the part is my opinion

its cool that you guys have different opinions of Rav and his clips, but spending 20 minutes telling this guy his opinion is wrong.. is..well.. wrong. no one said mike isnt a pro, they said these clips are not pro level and they are correct. if you have to go back to the "history" of the rider to justify these clips, well.. i guess you can defend the clips on their own.
