Group Play in Pantheon: a new MMO with an old school feel

​ @mughug9616 I agree it doesn't look great, but I don't need it to. I'd rather have good, synergistic, complex and strategic gameplay that is challenging and group-focused. Can you give me another example of that? I'm not even being sarcastic I'm actually curious and interested. At the same time/other side of the coin, there are QOL issues with Pantheon that really need to be adjusted.

I agree with you. Problem is, it'll just be you and i playing lol. To get more people into the game, they've got to make it prettier or it won't get the investment to keep it going.

This game will be fine. The population now is enough to keep it alive if it had a sub, and as the game improves it’ll draw more people in. 1.0 release will be considerably better than ea release and ea release seemed quite successful.

@@defixon I don't mind a sub, but others do. And you and i both don't know what sort of population they need for it to be successful; we're just guessing. I really hope it makes it, i'm dying for another EQ-like MMO.

@@Lhorbrum the people that don’t like subs rather have a cash shop? I’m not sure why anyone would have a problem with a sub unless they just expect the game to magically bring in revenue through mysterious ways. Cash shop in a game like this would be stupid, but if done right I guess it would be fine.

I dont know that graphics is what the target audience wants. I'd rather see QOL stuff like maps, aggro list, and reasonable ooc mana regen.

Downgraded graphics look perfect for transition to mobile platforms when the time is right.

People also need to realize you cant have AAA tier graphics when you have 100 or so players on screen casting various spells and abilities. I'd prefer my games to play smoothly than look great but function poorly. Some of the best games ever weren't the best graphically.

@@KalosPVP No-one wants AAA graphics, but as many have mentioned all over the Internet - we are talking about a MMORPG in 2024/2025. There are plenty of MMOs that manage exactly what your point is but manage it with modern graphics and not something that has been called cartoonish and to be honest looks like a cheap Asia MMO.
