Solo travel is the way to go. It gets you out of your shell. Plus you meet more people that way instead of being with your regular group of friends or family.

I am going on holiday to Paris in May all on my own :) I am super organised; got hotel booked, know where I am going and got train tickets booked :) First trip on my own so I am super excited but also nervous as this is my first holiday on my own :)

Great video! I'm definitely excited for some solo traveling. I've mostly traveled with my parents before (a lot, I am lucky!) but I'm an organized and independant person so I believe I can do it!

Hey Nadine! Loving these travel guide episodes! I started off on a group tour my first time, then group, then eventually last year onto solo travel for 2 months. I had a great time on all three, and solo was especially liberating - yet at the same time, terrifying. At the same time, the freedom excited me, but scared me, as well as meeting people was cool, but then if i stayed somewhere where there were no hostels it became hard to meet people, then it became lonely quite quickly. I dont know if you've ever found this?

Thank you for this video! I knew how hard group travel can be, so I've never considered doing it (I like the freedom of traveling solo). But I also never took the time to think about the benefits of going in a group. I will have to try traveling with others sometime!

Hi Nadine! Me and my friends have been thinking/started planing of going to South Korea and I am so glad you put this video up because it's the problem we're dealing with right now. We can't really choose between using a travel agency or going as just us. I say it's best as a normal group but then again it's something completely foreign to us and sometimes quite scary. I say a group is better because our main purpose of going is the music scene so we'd be more focused on that. Anyway just wanted to see if you could give us your opinion. Also sorry for such a long comment haha. Thanks!

I like to travel on my own. I want to go where I want, get up when I want to, and so forth. Hey Nadine. On escorted tours, you have to get up at 6 in the morning, have your bags out by a certain time, rush to eat breakfast, and then leave the hotel at certain time. On some of the European tours that start in London, you have get up at quarter after 4 in the morning, and then leave London at 5:30 to catch the hovercraft over to France, and your first stop on the European continent. If I want to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning, I'll stay home. I don't want to be tied down to a rigid schedule. There's a lot of walking on these escorted tours as well. I have arthritis in both of my knees and I have difficulty walking. I wouldn't be able to keep up with the group. Even in Europe, you're going through centuries-old churches and buildings; as well as walk on cobblestone streets. In the big cities, you only get two nights at a hotel. Two nights is not enough time to see and do everything. For example: I have been to Los Angeles four times. There's so much to see and do out there that you need at least ten days there. I'm also planning to go to Hawaii as well. I plan to only stay in Waikiki, and just simply do the one island. One some of the Hawaii tours, you start out with three or four nights in Waikiki first, and then you go on to the other islands. Oahu has so much to see and do there; and I plan to stay in Waikiki for 11 days. Also, please make sure that you check out Tripadvisor.com for the hotel reviews as well. For Hawaii, I want to stay at nice budget hotel as close to the beach as possible. I can't afford a big fancy hotel. But at the same time, I don't want to stay at a dump either. As soon as I get me a job and the money together, it's Aloha!

Ive mostly done solo, but it was most costly. In travel with friends, I was always the streetwise vigilant one and the organiser. I've been to hundereds of places and never once got robbed/scammed (touch wood), but experienced my friends and family with me get get pickpocketed....

@don-dspid240410 жыл бұрын
I've always traveled solo or with one other person, but you tend to get a bit lazy when you travel solo. I'd really like to try group travel next. The fact that you all have something in common seems to me would break the ice and make it easier. If you travel in a group as a individual they always seem to charge quite a bit more. From your experience is that always the case?
