Another money tip: have a fake wallet with monopoly money and expired credit/debit cards (maybe scratch out your name) and put it in an obvious place for where you might keep a wallet and put your real one somewhere more concealed. If something is going to be stolen it'll much more likely be the fake one!

Oh and don't have single strapped bags, always have two straps and have both over your shoulder, it is too easy for someone to quickly cut the strap on your bag and take it and run!

Kadie Wanders Another packing tip piggybacking off of what Rachel said about rolling your clothes: When I went to Europe for a couple weeks, I rolled all my clothes and then put them in zip lock bags and squeezed all the air out. It's kind of like those space bags that are vacuum sealed. It made so much more room for me in my suitcase!

If you wear a sweater or jacket have a really tiny purse and wear things tucked inside while in busy areas. Keeps passport and tickets safe and out of sight.

any advice for people who want to travel but are nervous flyers?
@emily70399 жыл бұрын
I have traveled one time in my life and I didn't make any of these mistakes. We got there 2 hours early, we rented our car, we made it to our condo (we rented it) and they signed us in really quick, we didn't overbook our day and we had a really great vacation. Did any of you make those mistakes because those just seem like stupid mistakes to make.
@gilanin9 жыл бұрын
+Karen Lingeer That sounds like a pretty nice vacation. Mistakes are easy to make, sometimes people take the wrong bus and realise it too late, thus arriving late at the airport. Things like this can happen when you are not familiar with the transport system and the language. You can't expect to learn a complete new language in just a few days and neither can you expect everyone to know your own language. Keep in mind that vacationing and traveling are not the same depending on each person. Different people travel differently, and that's just because each of us have our own standards on what travelling should be. Renting a car and condo sounds like draining money for some. For example, a rookie mistake for some would be to have spent so much on hotels when there are cheap hostels around. For others would have been to waste so much on hostels when you can couchsurf and have a much more nicer experience instead. Some people are just travelling, they make up their locations as they go, that's why sometimes uncertainty can be seen as a mistake, your host had to back down at the last minute and you did not have any back up, you decide to change your train connection only to find out that you have to pay and extra fee for a portion of the journey, etc. Many things can happen when you are travelling. Other than that I would say vacations are pretty much on the safe side and it's less likely to make mistakes when you know where you are going to stay and the so. Although I've seen that the most common mistake for vacationers is overpacking. Travellers are generally better on that matter, especially backpackers.

@TheFishtownies10 жыл бұрын
***** thanks! well, just to clarify, we are not broke, and have decent jobs, but we are trying to pay off all the debt we incurred over the last 7 years. We want to pay off our house and student loans. We have paid off our credit card bills from health issues, our solar system, both cars, my student loans, major home improvements, and a few other smaller things. We have been KICKING BUTT, but we still have about 3-5 years left on the mortgage and another 1-2 years on my wife's student loans. We have just started to save for travel, and we put a few hundred dollars a month into a fund. We want to have no debt so we can go to part time and give our kids (and ourselves) the experience of a lifetime. Sorry if this was TMI, but sometimes i just want to tell our story b/c it is a hard subject to talk about, but i try to be open. I'm gonna check out your vids...thanks again!!

1 *money chapstock* if you are scare about someone mugging you, you can put bills in an old chapstick tube, you have to cleaning first, i really works, even if you get mugged they are not going to take your chapstick, and you can put a lot of money there if you are using like like 2 $100 bills, there are lots of videos on youtube about it. 2 *"good food"* i heard that at least in the london there is a street where lots of tourist go to, and the "restaurants" like McDonald's suck there cuase only tourist go there and they are not coming back so the make shitty food, the good ones are in places where tourist never eat.
