I like the references in this thread to things that Grouplove is/has always ripped off. That phrase isn't really fair though. Since the Beatles wrote "There's nothing you can do that can't be done Nothing you can sing that can't be sung Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game It's easy" I always took that to mean that all knowledge already exists and as easy as it is to shit on youth for thinking they newly discovered something known that perhaps it is the same ideal through another lens. Just because Shari Vari existed in 197x and folks in 2001 thought they reinvented electronica as techno dance, doesnt make them idiots. Its all knowledge that existed already and gets rediscovered as some portion of a generation has yet to enter the meme. Bringing it back to Grouplove, nothing they do is really new, but its got a hefty production budget and sure does harken back to 00's Burning Man while still reaching youth of today. Producers love that shit.

@@grouplovemusic I REALLY love this whole album, have been playing a few tracks from it as often as I can, but unfortunately your label doesn't want tracks from it to be played. Have been notified of copyright violation and to cease and desist from playing them on a mixshow. I don't know how licensing works, but normally there's an ASCAP thing or something like that and the artist gets royalties from the songs played in mixshows if there's any revenue involved, so it's really rare for a label to notify that something can't be played (unless it's from the UK, where I presume they must have their own ASCAP type thing, but US stations aren't enrolled so we can't play those songs in the US)

I look back at old Grouplove youtube music video comments on summer nights from eight or so years ago and hear how everyone relates to the music. I discovered Grouplove at an Imagine Dragons concert, where them and K-flay played as opening acts. They are one of the best bands to exist in my opinion. I hope someday, when this song is no longer new, someone else is looking at the comments of this masterpiece and can relate to me.
