Just a heads up to folks, still really kinda lost after this one, and can’t quite put my finger on one singular thing that’s causing it. But to those leaving questions that are going unanswered or thinking I haven’t watched any interviews with Andy, Danai & Scott, I have and I likely discussed what you’re asking during one of the 8 videos I’ve made on this series so I encourage you to watch them all fully through, especially the discussions because I go exceptionally in depth on my thoughts & opinions regarding EVERYTHING. I need to step back from TWD for a little while though, so I will come back in time & respond to any questions that I haven’t already discussed in any other videos, but other than that, I think I’ve gotta put the lid on this one & walk away because I’m not trying to rain on anyone else’s parade. Those of you who loved it, please keep loving it ❤. - Jack ✌🏻

That's what I'm getting. Basically setting themselves up to be disappointed because they complaining about sex scenes, when this series was presented as a love story. People should just stop having high expectations and go into a series or movie with an open mind, you can't have your own perspective on things and how it's suppose to play out then get mad when it doesn't go your way. The actors said this show is about Rick and Michonne. The CRM would not play a big role in this series and they are not completely gone, they will eventually spread to other parts of the other spinoffs some other way because the CRM is huge. They spread throughout the country into other states and other areas around the world. We already got a show dedicated to the CRM anyway, World Beyond. Also, Beale wasn't really set up to be the next big bad guy, the CRM as a whole is the biggest threat which they very much still is. We might get an endgame type of reunion, get every main character back together for a final fight with the CRM maybe. I think that would work better.

This will be long sorry. Basically you don’t hate the episode, you just hated that you didn’t get what you wanted. Watching your videos, you’re a big fan of TWD, but you somehow missed Andy, Danai and Scott constantly saying that this was a love story between Rick and Michonne to wrap up their story? It wasn’t to world build, set up other spin offs, introduce new future big bads or to drag on the show for another 25 seasons. These people are getting older and have lives. It was to focus on giving some closure to fans and these two characters. Maybe the other spin offs will come up with something to further the franchise. The CRM still has other bases and agents in communities, that could be something. Ignoring what the creators told you about the focus and purpose of this show and expecting TWD season 12 confuses me. The creators told you what this was going to be and what their goal was and they accomplished that.

Not only that, Terry O'quinn is in his late 60s, this is a VERY physically demanding show and there were MANY famous people during the _'height'_ of the show that just wanted to be 'Walkers' on it... no credits necessary! Terry now has both 'Lost' and 'The Walking Dead' in his acting credits. We forget these people are NOT THE CHARACTERS THEY PLAY. They don't want to do these particular roles for the rest of their careers. This mini-series was about RICHONNE and ending that _loop._ Daryl is about ending the 'French Connection' loop. Personally, I think 'Dead City' will bring an end to the *Negan loop!* If they really want this to be a *STAR TREK* type of franchise they HAVE to get to *THE NEXT GENERATION* which will mean leaving the _original cast_ behind. Notice they keep filming OUTSIDE of Alexandria... that's because that _CONTRACT_ is over and that neighborhood has gone back to being a neighborhood. Even if they did do some type of 'gathering' later on you will have fans talking about KEEPING IT GOING! *LET IT GO ALREADY!* Watch whatever they produce until they decide it's no longer making them money... that IS the bottom line. Even _Star Trek_ goes into hiatus routinely.

It's kinda crazy but understandable to me that ppl would be mad at how Beale and the CRM were dealt with. You knew it was almost the end of the 10yrs of military reign & time for the CR to take over. ALL the corrupt leaders were in one place and Michonne can make use of bombs. They never needed to fight a huge war they needed to get rid of Beale's private force that did his dirty work and wiped out innocent ppl. Okafor said in ep 1 that the majority of the military wasn't aware or apart of the mass killings. Plus by end of the episode, what’s left of the military is now ran by the CR’s council and they’re gonna use that as a force for good.

Right. I'm sorry dude, but this who wasn't for you. At any point. And they did tell you. Countless times. ' A love story', 'epic romance'. There are plenty of people who read that and went 'yay let's watch that' (and loved it til the end) and it felt like from the start you were disappointed and determined to not like it, if your chorus of disappointed 'Rick!'s were anything to go by. What gets me though, is that Terry Quinn, your fave, great actor that he is, has the most lines this ep. Like, after R &M in the Danai episode, probs more screen time than Danai. Allll that, just for the TWD fans who love the war side of the fandom over the human one as kind as they are to do that - and stilll not happy. What it did show however is that the CRM has a desk-based despot in charge who only kills things nowadays though a fence and gets his kicks for asking people to swear on a war relic like himself - just for ornament. In the end, he was a figurehead, but also a dude, capable of being run through with a sword - as is the CRM which they were stupid enough to put in once place. And did I hear you say 'they weren't going to do that to all the kids', dude? Really? 'Martial law' 'delays to freedoms' 'take their resources' not enough for you? They told you they had to go time and time again and you just...ignored it It was a brisk episode and I admit that may be a preference but I love that shit. It MOVED. Felt like it was happening in real time. And plot holes where? Rick pulled out the pin of a grenade on a walker CRM soldier and hid behind their bodies, what's hard to understand about that? This show is about love conquering it all (yes, even when they were 'wasting time kissing' as you put it, nvm they had 8 years apart and know any moment could be their last) - even over tyranny and dictatorship. Andy and Danai have said countless times: *we* love, exec produce, showrun and write. it. I'm sorry that you won't let yourself enjoy it but good luck and happy trials I guess.

🎯 To another perfect post! ?Terry O'Quinn, a gifted professional of his caliber, was aware of what he was getting into because he faithfully captured every aspect of his character that you mentioned. Of course, a pre-promotion scene with Thorne and an additional scene with Okafor would have been nice from a plot point of view with Beale. Given his terrible leadership and genicidal, long-term plans, Beale was never intended to be a long-term character. Nevertheless, it was amazing to see him as a walker!
@LadyAstarionAncunin9 ай бұрын
Well said. What's more, it's funny how people are missing that they said they would save 10% of the children. So, unless I misunderstood them, the CRM was destroying the other 90%. I'd not go along with that either. Nor would I even if they weren't because other people had their societies that worked and no one had the right to come and destroy them. What's more, a military rule is NOT the solution for a new world. Quite the opposite, in fact. What Michonne and the others set up was the answer. Further, yes, as someone who's thrown a grenade or two, grenades don't do what the movies usually show them doing, taking out huge areas like some video game AOC effect. So, right, if Rick covered himself with three or so armored people while wearing armor himself, he could be at least somewhat shielded.

The stuffed bunny was a interesting one as it's now the 3rd time it's been referenced; 1st with little Lydia in the basement bunker when Alpha killed her dad and again in the subway with Daryl when he found the note on the $ from the kids who could no longer wait for their dad. Damn this show was amazing, if there's not a S2, there still HAS to be more!! The reunion with the kids was great and superrr emotional but I NEED the reunion with Rick & Daryl!! (OH! I definitely now wonder if Carol did actually say Rick was back in Daryls show??? HOWEVER I can't see a way Rick wouldn't be right there with her searching for Daryl if he had returned by that time. Overall, I'm satisfied, but I knew you'd feel disappointed Jack and I'm sorry for that. I do think there could be a some form of group show/threat in the future. Heck, maybe it'll be something linked to Dead City and that's why that's set so far ahead, as we don't know who the big bad could be then and with it being further forward there's no issue with Cailey looking a lot older etc. We know Rick and Michonne are back at home and if they are ever needed to be brought in later then that could happen. I also do think we'll get a Daryl/Rick reunion in at least that spin-off, as the actors are so close and I think Andy will want to give the fans that moment, so I do think there are possibilities for the future. I loved this series, but the finale did have its issues. Completely agree him leaving the hand as a symbol was dumb and Rick is smarter than that. I did want a bit more of Thorn rather than just her having a change of heart at the very last minute. Lesley Ann deserved a bit more than that. Some of the montages weren't needed, especially the ones during Beale's speech to Rick. A couple felt OTT and broke the pace of that scene for me. Would I have liked more Beale? Yes and no. It would've been cool, but I'm fine with what we got. Was it a bit easy removing the elite CRM? Maybe, but I think it worked for me because (a) the base wasn't where all the military was, so was isolated away from the others/Philly; (b) it was only a smaller group (he'd given the briefing 2533 times) and they were all congregated there ready to commit mass murder of a city. But for the conclusion of the Rick/Michonne focussed story, I'm satisfied and I loved the ending. I thought it was beautiful and didn't mind RJ's line, as it felt fair that a kid would be a bit awkward meeting someone who he hasn't met before. Unlike Judith, he doesn't have memories to add to the emotion, whereas he had more emotion seeing his mum again. Also kudos to the composers, as this score was beautiful. I thought the performances throughout were great. They brought in interesting characters and Danai and Andy were superb. Andy in particular really reminded everyone what an incredible actor he is, giving such a nuanced, layered, emotionally complex performance across these 6 episodes. Just exquisite work from him. So, overall, I'm happy. It was the ultimate ending I needed for Rick and I'm okay with it happening now, with the door open for future appearances elsewhere in this world. Anyway, that's my thoughts. Hope you're well. It's been a long time since we were both on those late night Zooms on the Duo crew channel!

Based on this ending I suppose it's safe to say Morgan's story is also pretty much over now due to the fact that finding rick is as simple as going back to Alexandria. I always sort of knew he wouldn't have much left to do as a character but I did enjoy his story so it's a little sad to think it'll be cut short like that.
@j.jenkins18859 ай бұрын
I was actually waiting for your reaction cause I think we were on the same page. I also think it was a teeny, tiny bit rushed and agree that they didn't sit in the final conclusion enough and imo the writing all around dipped the last two episodes. Maybe 2-4 more episodes would've helped and would've given us a little more time to flesh some stuff out, given us more time with some of the great side characters. With all that said...it was advertised as "an epic love story" and they did that. I'm happy that they're both alive and reunited with their kids. I don't think AMC were going to spend money on any of the beloved characters just for them to reunite for 5 mins at the end. Overall great series and definitely better than we've had in a good minute imo, but I think the last two episodes kind of dampened it just a little bit for me. Gimple, Gimpled the finale. I'm somehow satisfied tho lol. They deserve a happy, boring life, so who cares. I can see either or both Rick and Michonne making a cameo on the Daryl Dixon show tho (I think he's getting three seasons). and I'm fine with that.

Jack, this is not the last time we see Rick Think about it. Carol told Daryl someone is back before they lost reception during the Daryl Dixon. Carol is out looking for him. I bet any amount of money that we will get a reunion with Rick and Daryl. Yes this is the one season of TOWL, but it’s not the end of Rick. They will give us a proper reunion at some point.

We've had JUDITH the whole walking dead series since season three, we've only had RJ for a short time, then the main show ended. so there really wasn't much they COULD do with him. Plus he's just a little boy so, what do you expect. They didn't do much with Judith when she was little.

I feel like this series ended beautifully. It was first and foremost a love story. In that vein, I do feel the reunion should have been longer. It would have felt better if there had also been a reunion with Daryl, Carol, Maggie, Eugene, etc. I think those who aren’t into love stories, or were not actually Richonne fans, that this ending fell flat.

Kids have access to the internet. Why would you or even the vlogger feel it necessary to criticize a child’s acting? Leave the kid alone. It’s like looking at a kid’s artwork and saying hey why can’t you paint like Picasso? He’s 8.
@JacksWorldYT9 ай бұрын
Saying you’re not allowed to criticize someone when they don’t perform to the standard they should be on a stage this large is silly, if you’re putting some random kid in an art gallery with the best of the best & just trying to pass off scribbles as Picasso, yeah that’s wrong sorry lol. If it’s your own kid at home sure it’s fine but if you’re put on a stage & with the best of the best, you gotta measure up

@@JacksWorldYT again I think that’s too bad. You started your account at 14. I imagine you’ve grown since then. The actor didn’t hire himself. Perhaps criticize the casting director or director for not getting the most out of him but to criticize a kid online for what? What would you like for him to take away if he stumbles upon this review? I can imagine being online as a kid you probably received a fair share of criticism and I’m sure it didn’t feel good. At least as an adult you are in a better place (I hope) to handle it.

I'm gonna say it again: Y'all fanfic writers are PARTLY (some of it was impatience) how we got a terrible last season of Game of Thrones. Because the showrunners were so obsessed with not following y'all's fanfics on Reddit and the like, they did things as contrary to that as possible and screwed the whole thing up. I'll take a united team's very intentional vision to tell a singular story over a thousand different ideas from people who've never acted, written, directed, produced, or anything of the like--namely when it's as high-quality as this. What's more, this show was largely for people who love this union. And they understood the assignment the creators were given; thus, they were satisfied with the show. Finally, they ran out of budget. So, they had to prioritize what was important -- as well they should! They knew what they had to do and did it with the budget that was allowed. Now, if they come back and make these characters appear in something else, I don't want to hear anything from y'all. TL; DR: This story wasn't about the CRM, the others, the walkers themselves; it was about Rick and Michonne getting back together and home to their kids, getting an ending they deserve. Period. They did what they intended.

Totally agree with the rushed af ending. MAYBE 🤞🏼 we will see Rick again in Daryl (Carol's) show or Dead City...I'd rather an additional 6 episodes "putting bows" on alot of the things that seemed soooo important throughout the 5 shows. •why have Beales son be a big deal in WB when he's not even brought up in conversation?! Especially while talking about what Rick did to save Carl. •Why drop the info about embedded spy throught the US AND the World if they don't elaborate at some point? (Although now that the 3K "bad CRM are dead idk what they do now/report too) • What about Morgans exit?!?! His last last line?? To not complete that story would be a HUGE miss!! There are others but those really have to be addressed SOMEWHERE. I would honestly enjoy like the 6th ep to show how they all coexist now at least. EP 1-5 were INCREDIBLE but 6....It just still doesn't feel COMPLETE. 😢 (Sorry for my long @ss comments) Jack you know how much I value your input ❤

The most dangerous organization in the world that kills people left and right and is about to create a new world destroyed by only two people. ( I know it's only military that they killed and civic republic is still a thing but my point still stands ).So basically the CRM storyline was sacrificed for Rick's happy ending which he deserves but still. Also good that they will not milk their product any further with season 2 of this spinoff but we still have two spinoffs to go through... very weird order they decided to finish the walking dead.

glad im not alone, the show was not this lame with the story when it started, thats why "we" all liked it. they focused pretty well on the realism of it and it was a good thriller back then. and I get they had to expand the story as they made more seasons, and jumping forward honestly the craziness of the CRM introduction was a risky but cool fresh thing the show could have introduced and did a little more on it had more potential than that.I liked their relationship but that shouldnt have been the full focus becuase of how long this show has been aired. truly feel like andy just got a fat ass check for this and can now finally live in the UK with his family and not have to fly to the US for months at a time. but hoepfully come back occassionally for some spin-off cameos that will most likely be a cornball let down lol

She was a baby when he disappeared. That boy should have been more SHY about meeting him. *Andrew played his role to a TEE! But that's because Andy's a real DAD.* The kids were a little unrealistic. A normal kid would have asked him, 'Dad why didn't you come home?' How does Judith not feel TRAUMATIZED? She almost died and Mom wasn't there! But this wasn't about them, it was about RICHONNE and the fans who wanted to see Rick with his kids. I am one that's glad they brought that Arc to an end.
