Always use paintable caulk against drywall. Now the next guy that paints has a headache.

Installation calls for 100% silicone not caulk. Priority is a successful installation not to make it easy for the painter next time.

@@SalDiBlasi Drywall doesn’t belong within the water envelope of the shower. Any caulk touching drywall is not within the water envelope of the shower, thus doesn’t need to meet your TCNA guidelines. In this case you’re acting like an entitled tile guy that doesn’t care about the next guy down the road
