I used your system for repointing a bluestone deck. I got excellent results, 1st time through. Thanks

Some of my flagstones are on sand and another area is on crushed granite, both worked well. Do you think that mortar will work as a filler between stones using those materials as the base and will a epoxy additive be necessary?

I'd like to point out to our blind listeners, that the gentleman is NOT saying semen.

Thank you for the videos, they have really helped me a lot in my patio project. I would hire that guy by his accent alone. Hard working guy who takes pride in his work.

2:1 ration sand to cement will crack. As far as I know it should be 4:1. Suggest people check this out before starting the job.

minimum 3 parts sand, depending on width, up to 4x

I have a question: I am going to do this on my arizona flagstone patio next week. it has not been cleaned or sealed in at least 8 years. Should I clean the stone before grouting, and then clean again and seal afterwards?

You could use much dryer mix for your grout lines ( Larger gaps) , similar to shower bed floor. By doing so , you'll use less effort cleaning and removing haze after work.

you mention the ratio of 2 sand to 1 cement, but you don't mention how much water to use. Do you have that amount?
@flagstoneexperts10 жыл бұрын
Mix it to where it's a little bit hard. Check out the video on this page for info: www.the-flagstone-experts.com/Flagstone-Installation.html That is the video with our entire process for laying and installing flagstone. Great luck with your project! David

You seem like lovely genuine guys but my goodness that mess is so unnecessary, wet mix and a pointing gun is best , being wet fills any voids as does this to an extent but no need for all the mess

their still sponging it clean years later ...what a mess ...shoukd use a dry mix and pack it in joints then lightly wet with a hose on a mist setting ...that way u don't need to go back a try to remove semen staines. ..hahaha ..I mean cement!
@metallitech7 жыл бұрын
That doesn't give even close to the same result.
@MrAmericanbeauty7 жыл бұрын
indeed, wetter the better from the joints perspective, however , unless using a gun to place it its a mess like this, i think we all know semi dry is the easiest, quickest way unless using high coloured slabs(nightmare) but i think all in the trade know that the integrity/strength of the joint is compromised using dry, even if wetting after, ive even seen joints lift a fraction upon drying out doing that, which is a haven for weeds in time, as del boy would say "its a bark innit!"
@christophercoppinger57932 жыл бұрын
What a Bloody mess, 1= cement too wet 2= wrong ratio best to use 3x1 or 4x1 his will crack 3= make sure the slabs are dry.
