The best time to remove the plastic cover only when the guava cutting develops root, if no root growth and you remove the plastic cover too early, your green leaf growth will die and drop. Once your cutting produce lots of roots, it is strong enough to transplant into a larger pot fill with well drain soil. As it reach mature (4-5 ft tall), remove all old leaf and bend each tree branch down by tieing each branch bend downward tie it onto a bottle or a rock, this promote lots of fruits. When you see young fruits , pinch off the young leaf budding (between young fruits) to encourage the fruits to grow very large and prevent the fruits from dropping. I learn this from cambodia agriculture. Thank you for sharing your cutting growth ideas but what did you use to paint the top cutting? I use wood glue or iv organic paint.

I live in uk. And I planted guava from the seeds from guava. Two years ago. It’s growing very nicely in the greenhouse. From seeds it takes 3 weeks to propagate. I hope I will have fruit one day.
@EasyHomeGardening4 жыл бұрын
Yes why not. When we grow any plant from seeds, so it takes full time to give fruits. It may be 5 year to 15 years and if we grow any plant from air layering , grafting or cutting it take 1 to 2 year for fruiting but the condition is that tree must have fruits.
