YAY, Peggy's Back!!! I have been covering the entire state of Florida in prayer, as I have a lot of family there. So glad to know you're okay. You've given me a good idea of what to do with two of my Hoya that get too thirsty too fast. Time to pull out the Leca and the self-watering pots. As always, I love your tutorials, and your plants look good and are thriving beautifully.

Thanks for your continued support Gloria! I've really missed my plant family. Thanks for your prayers as you can never have too many! Self watering pots and Leca have saved so many of my plants in past months. I've had so much going on that I have be neglecting my plants. Hope they work out well for you also. Thanks for watching!

One thing I really love about your videos is the updates included. So great. My experience with the jade satin is that it likes to put out runners like that and unlike hoyas, that never gets leaves or you will get one leaf at the very end. I just cut them off. If you chop them into single nodes and put them in your little sphag box, some of them may produce leaves and roots. But I lost interest in that and just chop them off now and root the end where it does give the leaf.

So true Kyra! This plant is very stingy with new leaves. I would love to figure out a way to get this plant to put out leaves consistently. The long naked runners aren't cute!😧😟🌿💚

Hi Peggy! Thanks for the motivation....I actually have not done many chores lately....mostly cleaning the basement so I can bring all my outdoors in :) Love all the scindapsis and the alocasia....I have a dragons breath shipping from Florida as I type :) I need to repot my scindapsis jade as well....it is in a tiny 3 or 4 in hanging basket....we will see...same with my splash....well it was nice and relaxing watching plant chores this morning and nice to see your beauties :)

You are so welcome. I clearly hadn't done my plant chores in quite some time as well. Thankfully, most plants are forgiving. Thanks for watching!

You captured some very helpful shots. Often I have read about the value of flushing out the salts, but rarely put it to practice. But thanks to you I finally see the actual process; never saw it before. I'm reading Understanding Orchids, a book by William Cullina; he has lots of valuable horticultural advice that spans all orchids, but I believe many principles apply to other house plants as well, such as flushing out those salts that can threaten a plant.
@PeggysPlants2 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! I grow orchids in Leca and the flushing is the same with anything you are growing, even orchids. Thanks for watching.

Hey there, glad all is well. I have had some scindapsus pictus in water an they are struggling. Going to put them is spagnum moss to see if they do better. Don't have a grow light though so we will see. Thanks for always sharing great info

Good luck! I know how fussy scindapsus can be. I would suggest placing them in a container for humidity as well. That seemed to be the trick for me.

Hey lady! I am new to leca but I have a lot of tropicals in it that are flourishing. My water is terrible so I make sure I rinse it. With that being said it's been my situation that most people tend to use leca to get roots to then put in soil. Can't you keep in leca and use as soil replacement as long as I continue to rinse/flush and fertilize?
@PeggysPlants2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. I have plants that have always been in Leca and will remain there. I like to transition some of my larger growing plants to soil just so I can use a larger moss pole. However, some of my Leca growers are on moss poles, as well. I just find it harder to stabilize the larger poles in Leca.

Hi there! I’m new to your channel and very appreciative for your realistic videos. Do you use miracle grow as your fertilizer when using LECA? I’m a beginner and thinking of using LECA.
@PeggysPlants2 жыл бұрын
I sure do. I add 1/4 scoop to my water before adding it to the vessel containing the Leca.
