Hey Bud,,, quick side note, i have some of my potatoes bearing fruit!!!! just noticed them this morning, never have i had these b4, im gonna let them grow and see if we get actual seed from them. Now on the subject of Tomatoes ,,, you should try an indeterminant called "Rutgers" this is one developed by Rutgers university in i believe the 1920's and reproduced in recent years by Rutgers, this is the actual "Jersey Tomato" it makes clusters of 3-5 nice round fruit up to about the size of a baseball. They are very meaty i even used some for sauce along with my romas, seem to be disease resistant and don't make alot of fuss to grow , we don't get the prolonged heat that you guys do, but july can be very hot here in south jersey, last year here it was high 90's to 100 for a few weeks with alot of humidity , i know you get it much hotter for longer down there. i'd be interested to see how they do for you.

Those are some giant tomatoes! I grew almost 20 varieties of tomatoes and nothing to brag about growing here in the AZ desert. Hossinator 2255 produced very few nice sized tomatoes on the bottom and still has a few small tomatoes higher up that are taking forever to grow and ripen. Roadster tomatoes were much smaller and more prone to BER. I probably won’t grow again Roadster again and 2255 again. I have Bella Rosa, Grand Marshall, Red Snapper, and Thunderbird seedlings I’m going to transplant next month. Hopefully, one of these will do better before it freezes in early November. Jury's still out at Jasmine Street Farm on determinates as we're very much in the blossom and fruit set stage. Pollinators are extinct here so I'm doing the toothbrush thing with good results. Have not had the problems with Thunderbird that you've had. T-bird and Rambler are healthy and setting fruit well, but time will tell. Both of those are Sakata commercial varieties, so they may not make the cut to the home garden segment anyway. Red Snapper has strong vigor but not yet setting fruit. @@LazyDogFarm What do you think disease "resistant" tomatoes are? I've been researching this stuff for 20 plus years. YES there are GMO tomatoes. If it is not organic or heirloom it is GMO. Genetically modified for those that don't know. That genetically modified also includes "disease resistant" which the seeds are infused with pesticides. The giant pumpkins.....another GMO product. Some call it Frankenfruit. As in Frankenstein lab created.

Dang that's crazy. Mine have never gotten over 5' or so. Are you pruning them?

I feel bad for y'all southern folks.. Not being able to grow the good tomatoes must really suck.. No Brandywines or Virginia Sweets.. No Cherokee Purple, Abe Lincoln, Black Crim, Big Rainbow, Mr Stripey, Mortgage Lifter, Annas Noire, Sun Sugar, Sun Gold, or Black Beauty.. That would 100% be a deal breaker for me.. I always have fresh vine ripened maters from July thru October..

There are benefits to being able to grow year round, and there are disadvantages as well. Not much likes our summer heat besides sweet potatoes and okree.

@@LazyDogFarm Yeah, I wish I could grow year around up here, that would be nice for sure.. I'm in central Indiana, zone 6.. Mid April - Oct is it for me.. If this weather keeps up I may be able to before long.. It's been 90's pretty consistently for the last few weeks here..

It's been really bad lately. It happens right after a video posts, but not much after that. Hopefully YT will get a handle on it soon.
