Thank you for your comment. It is still a little early to plant pansy seeds in the UK but you can start sowing them inside from February to April or directly outdoors from the end of April to May. Kind regards. Gary

Thanks Gary, I would never have considered planting pansies at this time of year. one thing I do when planting small seed is add vermiculite to my mix as it makes pricking out so much easier.

Thank you for your comment Andy. It is still a little early to plant pansy seeds in the UK but you can start sowing them inside from February to April or directly outdoors from the end of April to May. Vermiculite is a good addition to seed sowing compost as it helps retain moisture. Kind regards. Gary

@@TheAllotmentGardenandKitchen I thought that as I have always sown mine in March but will certainly give February a go this year. I will have been gardening for 60 years this year and still learning. Best wishes Andy

My late brother's favourite flowers. I would love to grow some pansies for him. I am going to follow your advice and tips to grow some. I have tried before and failed, hopefully this time I will manage to grow some for him. Maybe the seed I used wanted viable? I have not had problems with growing other seeds. Thank you Gary . Happy gardening 😃

Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. Yes, definitely give it another go as pansies are well worth the effort. Just in case it was the seeds, buy some new ones and see how you go. Kind regards. Gary

Thanks Gary that's great. I tried growing trailing petunias from seed last year but they only grew up straight and didn't look good. What are the best trailing petunias to grow and if you get time would you do a short video on sowing them from seed. Thanks Gary.

Thank you very much for your comment Mike which is greatly appreciated. I don’t grow many varieties of trailing petunias but surfina is always a good variety. Try ‘trailing blue surfina’ or ‘deep red surfina’ There is already a video on my channel showing how to grow petunias from seed to flowering and you will find a link to this in the video description below this video. Kind regards. Gary
