I’m new to hydrophobic gardening, I’m watching videos to help me walk through it. I glad I came across your videos because jalapeños are next on my list. Is there a particular time of the year you planted your peppers. It’s winter time, and my house stay between 68-70 degrees. Is that too cold for peppers? I know peppers love warm weather but not too hot….I think! Also, how did your roots look as the plants got bigger? Did you have to trim them? Thanks for the content😊

i am searching for a small variety of pepper to grow. i found "Thai hot Pepper", i think i will try and see. i searched everywhere for your very sucessful Pot-a-Peno pepper, but it is very rare and expensive. anyway Thank you very much as always!

So exciting to see! I plan on growing various peppers for the first time this year (outdoors only though). Thanks for sharing the journey! I wonder how long the plants will remain productive.

HI. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU CAN ANSWER A QUESTION FOR ME. CAN YOU GROW TWO DIFFERENT KINDS OF PEPPERS IN THE AEROGARDEN. WOULD THEY CROSS POLLINATE OR NOT

Where did you get your light extension?
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Someone was selling them on Facebook but I no longer find that person. However, I see them on Etsy in recent days.

When you are pollenating the flower are you just vibrating the white part of the flower? I've never tried to grow peppers in my Aerogarden. I just use them for seed starting.
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Yeah, just tapping the flower petals for a second is all we need to do.

I think the packet might have lied about the size this thing would attain. Dang that got big. At least it was really productive for you. I grew a mini jalapeno and it was not a mini plant, just mini fruit which weren't that mini either.

yeah, it has been very productive.

You can find them on Etsy. Make sure to find the right one. Extentions are different between Harvest and Harvest Elite. So, choose according to your Harvest model.

Hello what is the ideal light hight for peppers? Over 18 inches
@aerogardenexperiments6 ай бұрын
@tracisusong6991 Some pepper varieties can stay under 1 foot. For example, Pot-a-Peño jalapeños, numex Easter, fire &Ice can stay under feet. However, the ideal height, I would say, is 2 feet.

Can I leave the plants to outgrow the system and if not why?
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
You can leave them outgrown. However, I see 2 issues. 1. Once the plants are touching the lights and covering them, there won't be any light distribution. 2. The branches outgrown the lights obviously don't get the light so the productivity won't be good without lights. Pepper plants are always hungry for light and water. All in all, productivity may not be great, but they still do OK.

What do you mean by pollinating flowers - or what do you do? First timer here
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
It means, transferring the pollen. Fruits will be produced only if the flowers get pollinated with a few exceptions. Please check this video for detailed explanation on various pollination types: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4GZY4aXgr6NmKM For peppers, just shaking the plants a little bit is good enough for pollination.

i have a question did you design the light extension yourself or find it online? i just purchased 2 idoo 8 pod systems and want to do the same thing, i have already made and printed a support ring to prevent plants from leaning over as well
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
No, I bought it from someone I came across on Facebook/Etsy.
Its not true that the seeds are spicy. The spice in a pepper comes from the pith or placenta which is the whitish colored part of the pepper. Just fyi
@aerogardenexperiments Жыл бұрын
Ah! I see. As I was removing the seeds, I was unintentionally removing pith, which automatically reduced the spice. Now I understand it. Thank you.

You call that thing you are growing in a aerogarden. Do the roots actually periodically sprayed. Or are the roots just hanging down into the nutrient solution ? Or both ? I'm sure you know this. But with true aeroponics the roots are not suppose to hang down into the nutrient solution. They are suppose to just hang in the air. And periodically get sprayed with nutrient solution. Hence the name aeroponics. It just blows me away that these companies call these systems aero, when they are actually hydro. Totally misleading the public.
