Nice update Jay 👏🏻. The exact reason why I cover my lawn when I do kill it off. And use germination sheets, One it helps brings the grass through quicker because of the warmth underneath and 2 to stop the animal damage. Birds and foxes.

Thickening by the day now pal! Just a few patches to fix but other than that should have some stripes later this week💪🏽

Yes Sam the birds took lot of the seed ya another few weeks and once’s it cut now it we’ll help to thicken the grass up
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
Definitely Paul, that’s definitely the perk of top dressing onto the seed and having that light covering, also a fleece would have worked perfect on this size lawn, we live and learn!😄

Nice mate. I’m literally a week behind you. I chose to top dress over the seed. But still have patches that are not germinated yet. So I’ll follow you in a week. Cheers for your content as always.

In that case I think you’ll notice a lot thickening up in the next week or so, I’ll probably cut again at the end of next week and just go on regular mowing from there a couple of times per week to see how much the whole lawn thickens. I did layer the seed so hopefully more comes through as time goes on 😄🌱

Hi, do u know how to get rid of Poa Annua in the lawn? Enjoying ur vids- Thank u X
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
Hi ally ! The only two ways is either dig it out or to spot kill the area, POA is relentless, it creates that many seeds the chances are you’ll probably get it year after year if left.

@@JayRockGroundsMaintenance Thanx for reply- Oh that sounds a pain:( I prob spot kill with weed killer. X🦋
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
@@allylight8656 sometimes it’s the easier way, leave it 3 week and then rake it, seed and give it a bit of top dressing, it will be through after a further 3 weeks 😄🌱

Great work! Any tips on levelling a huge 1 acre lawn?? It was levelled & seeded 2 years ago & grass looks great. Was really a great job, but over time has become bumpy in many places.
@JayRockGroundsMaintenance2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Robbie! 1 acre would take a whole lot of top soil but if you could get the dressing down then something make shift would be the way, you see lots of Americans using pallets behind ATV’s or similar/ lawn tractors, that would do a fair job 😄.

Front lawn looking good. Just the few patches to sort out. I am surprised at you getting a bitch when you know the damages they do with their pee. I think you can get something to put in their water to stop this. My back lawn now been seeded for 3 weeks and looking good. Going to give it a light cut this weekend. 👍😁

I know Ray! She was a rescue though and I accepted that I would be happy to lose the back garden to her!😂. Nice one Ray! Easy does it with the cutting, I noticed it thickening up a lot after this cut 🙌🏽
