cats murder our plants all the time but lucky for us we only bring in plants that they can murder. We grow wheat grass for them that helps them digest food well and get rid of hairballs, and we grow 2 kinds of catnip and 1 kind of mint (because catnip is in the mint family we realized that our oldest loves the mint plants too which makes them all last longer because she is indecisive about which she wants to kill first)

Man, I wish my hammy could have a luxury life like this, he is such a sweetheart. So I’m trying to save up to get him a massive cage, however he is not an unhappy hamster and I can tell by the way he looks at me that he loves his life, bless his tiny heart, I think he’s overjoyed that I adopted him and didn’t leave him in that pet shop and I focus 1/2 of my life on this spoiled Dwarf, hopefully he knows how much I love him

To make this build more successful your missing worms. Worms move nutrients in the soil around allowing more plats to grow and the plants that are there to grow faster.

La Ki113r You would actually keep the worms in a separate box, because you have to feed them scraps of food and it also doesn't smell too great. The food scraps also might hurt your hamster if they aren't safe for them. You would take the "droppings" and put them into the soil with the plants. Yeah you wouldn't get the air flow that worms make, but you probably don't want your hamster plucking a live worm out of the soil and nibbling in it haha

Dont really care for hamsters or anything, but got ideas already to make sick hamsters play area. Like get big lava rock chunks, get a special drill thing, drill big chunk out, chisel it a bit to make big wide space, put into soil area, cover the top of it with soil, seed it a bit, and enjoy to see hamster have it's own hobbit hole to sleep in. Lol

I just realized I have left my hamster unsupervised in my room for over 2 hours. (It's hamster safe I always leave her in my room unattended but for short periods of time for like 20 or 30 minutes. She loves it because shes very energetic but she does like to rip my carpet up so I'm concerned for my floor)

Have you considered making this a bio active garden and adding isopods? They are so fun to raise and watch the colony grow and I bet they would be a fine snack for hamsters!

Yeah as a gardener/landscaper you do need to push the seeds under the soil so that the soil keeps them nice n moist. Also slice the bag at the top across ways so you can reuse the bag 🤪😉 loved the video :))

You could maybe put a drainage layer of clay balls or rocks in the bottom so don't really have to worry about overwatering? Something like clay balls or rocks with a drainage mat overtop, and then the soil on top of that. It's how bio-active terrariums for reptiles and the like are done. It'd make the habitat a lot heavier depending on what you use, though.
