Buckwheat is a regular member of my garden family thanks too you, Brie! A couple of years ago, you suggested it in answer to my garden question. It's so easy and effective!

Today’s garden chores includes cutting back two raised beds of buckwheat.😢 it is so beautiful and I have such a hard time hacking back the flowers before they self seed in my raised beds. I have been enjoying handfuls of the flowers indoors, too. They make great cut flowers!

This was awesome!!! We’ll laid out and explained. Could you do a crimson clover video like this?
@BrieThePlantLady Жыл бұрын
Yes! When it time to sow I’ll def do a crimson clover video. That’s probably the easiest way to talk about cover crops- plant by plant.

I bought buckwheat seed this year just for fun had no idea what I was going to do with it. Now I do. I loved seeing it grow wild in SoCal. Bee keepers had hives in the desert where it was prolific and the plants would be covered with honey bees

We are really wanting to plant cover crops but also succession/fall sow in the vegetable garden…is that possible? I can’t seem to figure it out.
@jaclyndepre5557 Жыл бұрын
I thinknthays possible I think you just need to leave room for your fall sowing or, pull/chop and drop some of your cover crops before you plant.
@BrieThePlantLady Жыл бұрын
Yes you NEED to incorporate cover crops. They are meant fill in the open spaces.
@emkn1479 Жыл бұрын
@@BrieThePlantLady yes I understand that. Our beds aren’t bare if we’re succession sowing, and with fall crops it pushes use late in the season. I need to know if any crops can be planted late in zone 6.

Everybody seems to say throw the seeds out in the garden. Is there a chance that birds and/or chipmunks will eat the seed before it germinates? If so how to deal with that situation.
@eyeonart68655 ай бұрын
I would love to know how deep to plant, you did not say.
@BrieThePlantLady5 ай бұрын
You literally toss the seed in the ground and rake over it for good seed to soil contact. not deep at all.
