🐓 Shawn didnt know if you knew that here on my island Kauai is known for its feril and wild chickens everywhere, i hardly notice them cause i got used to them everyday squaking 🤣 One thing ive noticed is how important it is for them to forage for their food using their legs to scratch and hunt ,keeps them in shape and happy ! In return they produce better quality eggs and meat whereas factory raised chickens raised in a cage are not happy and have to be pumped full of crap to be able to sell in a store ! Wondering in one of your next episodes if you can share the different varieties of eggs you collect as comparisons of store bought ! More double yolks and larger more flavorable nutrient rich eggs . Thanks Shawn youre awesome! And Calli ❤

Hi Shaun and Cali we are watching from our organic farm in New Zealand. LOVE your videos, we use biochar , worm juice and make our own calcium for the land from our chickens crushed eggs shells. Hubby has made me "hot garden boxes" this year and OMG my Veges are thriving, lush and healthy. We only eat beef from our farm no vax no anything !! They go into paddocks which have herbs and it looks like a salad bowl. Our chickens get minced possum our sons trap , they bark tan the skins and make clothes.

Are you just not growing veggies except squashes? There are a lot of healthy veggies out there! I would think that being self-reliant would preclude you from depending on an expensive nutrient supplement instead of your own food supply. I can understand cutting back on potatoes because of the carbs, but don't really understand the lessening of veggie variety.
