does this concrete pond has its air pump? because I wanna know if crayfish will survive with no air pump as long as they are bigger than craylings already.

It's better if you have airstones running. We just run them during the day because we're on solar power here. You can get away without airstones as long as the crayfish can climb out of the water. They like to do this at night or during rain. If you stock them at a high density in deep water they can die from oxygen deficiency. Hope this helps you 👍

Are you growing your own bamboo? I was considering this myself. What variety do you have and how much water do they require? You look to be in a dry area, but they have higher water needs don't they? Do you have a water catch system?

Hi. Big fan here. A few questions: 1) What is the purpose of the snails? 2) In other videos you have an "underground pond" for them to breed. Does that have cement on the bottom? I imagine you have more than one. 3) What is the criteria of when to pump air vs not.

Leigh, Was it correct that in an earlier post you said that you have aussie yabbies? These crustaceans that go by the name of Bruce and Sheila can cause havoc on dam (what they call a pond over here) walls undermining them by burrowing into them. You do have quite thick walls so probably won't have an issue but .... If you don't mind me saying your Missus seems to know her way around handling the old Bamboo!

Most crayfish borrow. Redclaw don't. They look for natural hollows, logs and grass/ vegetation.

As Mark says, redclaw crayfish don't burrow. Toon & I have been processing fresh bamboo for a fair few years now. We'll do a video on it soon 😉
