Growing Dianthus Flower / Dianthus Plant Care / How to Grow Dianthus Plant in Pots

Dianthus flowers are easy to grow and can thrive in a range of conditions. They bloom best when given plenty of sun, but they don't like the high heat of mid-summer. Dianthus plants may be found as a hardy annual, biennial or perennial and most often used in borders or potted displays. The dianthus plant is also called Sweet William (Dianthus barbatus) and has a fragrance with cinnamon or clove notes. The plants are small and usually between 6 and 18 inches (15-46 cm.) tall. Dianthus flowers are most often in pink, salmon, red and white hues. The foliage is slender and sparsely spread on thick stems.

My dianthus is a bluish grass. Do they require the same care as the ones in this video? I live in Florida and was wondering if morning sun and afternoon shade will work well. Or, I have dappled shade beneath pine trees? Thanks 😊
