Excellent step by step demo, I didn't knew Bosten Fern can be divided at roots and planted into other containers

Boston fern is hard to care for if your a busy person. They’re high maintance. Lots and lots of leaves always fall all over the floor, you really need to mist it often, you gotta cut the dead leaves and you have to water it more than other plants. So be aware before buying it! Low maintance plants are the snake plant, pothos, English ivy, the Dracaenas plants (like dragon tree) and aloe vera.

Cool thank you for your time and consideration. I new at growing and caring for plants I have a Boston fern n it is dying I wasn't sure if I over water it 🤦 . It has about two green leaves. So maybe I'll repot it n make sure that I'm misting 💦 it. Again thank you for the info. God bless

you can plant them over fine silica sand and water them by immersion up to the upper boundary of the sand layer, that would let the fern absorb water through capillarity rather than direct watering , aside you can set a "leaf trap" over the basket, and if you take them into an area that can bear more humidity like a closed balcony you could use an humidifier.

Kimberly Queen ferns are good for busy people. Less fussy and messy.

Ferns need higher humidity and some light. And don’t mist them…it does nothing for the plant.

Because of me, 4 attempts of purchasing and growing them, but..they all passed out. I don't know..my friends said too much water and on the other hand the pots were dried. I gave up. No ferns.

I noticed mine die if they don't get enough light. Despite what this video says, mine need a good amount of light to survive.

You might already know this but I was told to water them by spraying or with a water catch at the bottom also heard of people using ice cubes? instead of watering directly

One change is good enough. The second pit must be much bigger to leave it there to grow for the rest of its life. No need to keep changing.

Like was said not too much light but if it's drying out quickly your pot mix is over grown with roots repot in new pot mix after breaking up the rootball

you might need better water retention in the soil. dont use Terra cotta pots with ferns because those pots are to porous use plastic pots.

What’s the danger if the pot is too large?
@shannongay31023 жыл бұрын
if the pot is too large, there is more soil, which holds more water than the plant needs. What the roots don't take up, is left ,and root rot soon follows.

What about those leafless runners? I heard that if one came in contact with damp soil, it would put out roots and grow a new plant. I haven't been able to make that happen and I have LOTS of runners. Please explain if this is a myth or fact.

I don’t know what this guy is talking about. Boston ferns need bright indirect light always. Just place one in a dark corner and see what happens.

Ummm you’re saying that ferns are great for indoors because they don’t need much light. You say this as you showcase a Boston fern on this video? Are you serious? Boston ferns are terrible to keep indoors because it needs BRIGHT DIRECT SUNSHINE MOST OF THE DAY!!!! 🤨

+Chelsea Birbal Are you always so stupid? He said "why are his plants dirty?", referring to your comment "some people like their hands being clean" and not just randomly stating that his plants are dirty.

@moeorleanz7 жыл бұрын
Chelsea Birbal you said he wants to keep his hands clean meaning his plants must be dirty. My plants and soil are clean and from the earth.
@adelmorse1737 жыл бұрын
+moeorleanz Exactly, there is no need to wear those silly gloves, it's not a garden where you can expect all kind of nasty surprises, not to mention that it's a pain to work with houseplants while wearing those silly gloves. I think that the sissy guy is just afraid of getting dirt under his nails, something that can be washed away quite easily with a brush and some water. It's a weird guy anyway, who the heck does this kind of stuff in his living room, not mention has a painting on the wall of flowers in a vase. hehe
