Awesome that your plants are doing so well!! I would put a disclaimer that this is your current routine with leca and not a tutorial on how to convert a plant, as many people will not know that converting plants to semi hydro is a very involved process that requires cleaning the roots thoroughly, etc. (: just want to make sure no one tries to convert based off your routine video then have their plants die...which would be their fault for not doing the research but you know how people are these days...😂😂😂

I tried leca with orchids, I only have 2 orchids left, a mini orchid in leca & it seems to be surviving. The other is an older orchid & roots didn't do well, started rotting in leca so I placed in in orchid mix & thriving. I've learned both orchids need watering almost daily but I just squirt a small am out for quenching.

Thank you for doing this. I've seen your semi-hydro plants in your other videos and wondered how you were doing them in jars. I have been using the leca+jar method to root plants for several months and it works well. I have only converted one actual plant to leca and only because it had mealy bugs that I couldn't seem to get rid of. It was good to see your method with jars with no side/drain holes. And I'm with you on the PH-testing. I would really not be up for all that.
@kyrad65434 жыл бұрын
One other thing. I like your little "mat" that you use for potting. I always have to do my leca stuff outside because while those balls are cleaner, they roll everywhere when one gets loose!

Just started with leca, watching lot of different people and their experiences with it. I like the simplicity of it, like no dirt that rots, less pests, and you can fertilize exactly, as nothing is "lost" in the dirt. I do see more people changing to pon, so I might get into that later.. Right now, I am just testing out, and having fun with this hobby.

I love that you keep it simple and realistic. I also have the same philosophy: 1. if it's working, don't change it up too much. 2. don't overcomplicate things. If it gets too cumbersome, I might abandon it all together, which would not be good. lol Looking forward to more of your videos! My lucky bamboo has been growing in leca for 4 years. I'm considering switching some of my snake plants to leca. Let me know if that's a terrible idea, please? Thank you!

You’re excellent at this type of video, good job 👍 . Subscribed. Clear, direct, quick explanations on how to get it done, much appreciated. I have been watching a bunch of videos on doing a semi-aquatic situation for inside my shower/tub enclosure as I have a rain shower head directly over my large jetted tub with a tiled surround edging where I could set plants, and I needed to know which plants might work getting doused regularly with water and how to do soil-free growing for obvious reasons. This video was almost perfect. The only thing I would have asked you if I could was what the light requirements were for each plant-but I can look that up myself. I have medium to low light in there, so I need a plant that can handle that.
