Ooh! I really want more varieties, now. I have two, one in my garden that was planted many years ago, that has spread in one area and are quite small. Then I have native plants at my parent’s home that are huge. I’m hoping to propagate both types and squire many more. They are so beautiful and my favorite flower.

What is a good place to buy arisaema seeds. Unusual ones! Thanks

Can these be transferred in the fall from my woods to a flower garden? We are in zone 5.

I just picked a huge arisaema sikokianum seed pod. I put the garbonzo bag over it. The plant has completely died but was fully green plump berries on it. After watching many deer cross my yard i picked the green pod. Will the seeds ripen. They do have a pink cast to them but im wondering if the seeds will be viable. Thanks

Last fall some wild Jack int the pulpits were moved into my garden.I did not know where the gardener had put them. I found a dead stem with dried leaves at the end and some about 5 red betties in the ground around the dest plant. I had no idea what they were so I covered the berries up with about an inch of dirt. In the spring 5 beautiful plants came up and I still did not know what they were until the "jacks" showed up. So...you don't need to mess around with all that trouble.. I live on an island in Maine. I transplanted more plants from the woods over the summer and they all grew "jacks" and got almost 3 feed high. More came up all thru the summer. I had gorgeous plants from seeds in on season. Plant in the fall and got huge jacks I n the summer. They were so bit I thought they were going to start preaching. LLLL

I’ve read that you have to go through at least a single freeze for the seeds to germinate... I have many of them, but one year one grew to a good 2 1/2 to 3 feet. For some reason it never came back, at least not as big
@Gardenfundamentals12 жыл бұрын
That information is incorrect. These are warm germinators - I'll grown at least a dozen species.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Mother Nature may have incased the tiny seeds inside a berry to keep it protected while it is in the soil over the winter. The berry rots away as it dies and the seed goes on to germinate. My plants are in a place next to the house and gets sound in the afternoon. As I stated the grew to almost 3 feet tall and in the fall the large bunches of green berries looked like grapes! They are turning red now and I will plant them where I want them. So simple.
