It’s the most natural thing for men to have long hair. If men “should have” short hair, genes wouldn’t allow it to grow more than say 2 inches.
@Doctor_Queen
@Doctor_Queen 4 жыл бұрын
Steve-in-Cornwall I agree that’s its natural but the reason why males started cutting there hair was because during the 20th century females were not allowed to work but males did and the males had to use heavy machinery and with long hair it could get stuck and hurt the worker and therefore the reason why males have short hair from what I can remember at least

loool with that logic we are meant to let our nails grow and never cut them since otherwise our genes would have restricted them to a certain length.

mo people aren't meant to cut their nails because of their gender. Having long nails might just not be comfortable for some people and that's fine. Same as hair, cutting is an option depending of the person (when there are no specific rules like at school or work)

I got out of the military back in February and haven’t gotten my hair cut since. My awkward stage hasn’t been too bad so far (thanks coronavirus). Patience is definitely a virtue I’ve noticed. I’m hoping my hair is long enough to tie up and do more things with by my 30th birthday in November. I’ll consider that my present to myself.

I've grown my hair for 2 years now. I've had a haircut once since last year and decided to go with a undercut. Don't get me wrong, I liked it for like 2 months and then I thought about growing my hair back. So I'm basically going through the time of growing my hair again-ish and it's painful to have it so short compared to the rest of my hair, but I guess patience is the key solution here!

Not gunna lie the hardest part for me is the exact stage that you were explaining about where it's not long enough to tie up. The thing I hate the most is the "poofiness" and my hair curling up with an insane cowlick and the back of my head having those curls due to my neck.

Im at about a year of growing it out from a haircut that was longer (but still short) on thetop, and short on the sides. I got a pretty good length going on right now, and I think I finally found my routine. I’ve tried growing it out once back in 9th grade (I started growing it when I graduated), but I washed it completely wrong and dyed it black and it was ruined, so I chopped it. This time I’m growing it out with a lot better of a routine (it’s changed a lot throughout), and it feels so awesome having long hair. I can’t stress enough the importance of having a decent routine. Keep striving for it! To anybody growing their hair out, you got this!! Especially during quarantine. That awkward stage is rough, but it’s well worth it! (Btw my hair is a little longer than in my profile pic, that was around December!)

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve recently started to grow my hair out, since December I made the decision. So it’s been about four months, and I absolutely love how I feel with longer hair! I don’t have an end goal in mind, because my hair isn’t a destination but a journey, and I’m learning a lot about it. The only thing I will say is that there is so much negativity from people criticizing it. People tell me I need to cut it, it’s too long, or that I look ugly with it. (The front only covers my forehead, barely starting to cover my eyes). How did you deal with other people’s opinions?

On a serious note, I would love to see a video about how to find your part when getting to 6-10 inches of length. I started with a comb over hair cut and a skin side fade. It’s now been 6 months and the top is really long but the sides are literally a month or two away from everything going up in a bun. The only issue is.... how do I wear my hair when it’s down? I’m thinning on the top a bit so I can’t split it down the middle. It looks ridiculous. Currently I still have the part from my comb over but I’m sure it isn’t right. I think this would be a great video for you to do! If not, maybe just a response on it will also be very much appreciated. Thanks so much man.

Hi!! Nice hair/nice video!! I had BIG hair-metal band hair in the eighties and then have kept it very short for the past 30 years - during which time I have excelled at my job and have increased my income significantly. About 5 to 6 months ago I started growing out my hair again because, when I am away from the office, I love to snowboard, ride waves in the ocean, and play guitar in a rock band. So it just feels more natural for me to have longer hair. Unfortunately, as my hair gets longer, I have noticed people tend to treat me differently. It feels like they are not as respectful towards me and I am wondering how it might affect my job. Makes me kind of sad and frustrated. It just feels a little unfair that people seem to judge a man by the length of his hair. I mean, I am still ME! I can still do the things I did when I had shorter hair! I still care about the same things and can still perform my job functions. In fact, I am mostly a happier person now that I am re-connecting to who I was back when I first had long hair. I think I just wanted to vent a little about my situation to people who might understand and who may be experiencing the same "cold shoulder" effect from people around them. Thanks!!!

I’m now 5 months into growing my hair out and I have it parted pretty much right in the middle and my hair now touches the bottom of my ear and isn’t uncomfortable anymore. I have wavy hair so if it was straight it would probably be another inch or more longer but the weight of the hair at its length it is now keeps it in place pretty good. Don’t feel the need to go to the barber until it gets longer than I want it and that probably won’t be for another year. All I put in it is some good natural conditioning cream after I wash it to keep the fizz down and that’s it. The worst part is that it just takes forever to dry without a hair dryer. Tip: don’t get your hair wet in the shower if your not gonna wash or condition it.

My hair is wavy and so thick even though it's 3 inches long it sticks up. I'm starting to tell myself long hair doesn't suit me I'm fighting everyday not to cut it. I'm 33 and never had long hair. But gonna suffer through it so I don't die with a tombstone that says "I wonder what it would've been like".

I dont know why but im ~6 months into growing my hair(i have wavy,thick dark hair) and i have a lot of split ends, and hairs that are broken in half and stick out very much. Say when i want to slick it back with gel, it doesnt look good because a lot of hairs just stick out and it looks horrendous. I've always wanted to grow out my hair, and thanks to quarantine i gathered the courage to do so. Hope someone with a similar problem to mine can help/suggest what to do with all those split and broken in half hairs. Cheers great video btw

Try only washing hair with water, my hair ain't super long yet, I always avoided growing it because it was too frizzy and curly. I stopped shampooing, putting any chemicals on it and just washed with water and it's like having new hair, it did take me a few months for it to get like this so dont expect a result overnight.

I like your hair. I am growing my hair out. I have been growing it out for eleven (11) months and it has reached a length of five and one half (5 1/2) inches. My friend/business partner is urging me to get my hair cut. I would like to let it grow out to terminal length. I can put the hairs at the back of my head into a small pony tail. Soon I will be able to put the pony tail underneath the collar and the back of my shirt so that it will be less obvious and people will not tell me to get it cut.

I've been growing my hair out for about 7 months and I feel that it's too short. I have really straight thick high volume hair and it's hard to keep up with it since it doesn't just fall flat, it wants to do it's own thing. My goal is to have shoulder length hair and it's so tiring to grow it since I feel like I'm not going anywhere with it....

Could someone present a sound argument on why women are allowed to join the army without having to part with their long hair while men arent? Isn't that a form of discrimination against men? And to add to that, this kind of discrimination is prevalent in "prestigious" employment settings.
