there is also another variety of millets. Pearl millets, which you can harvest within 2 months if your soil is rich and its hot. These are fantastic for chickens. in India we give these to chicks - along with fly larvae. Also, you can use the seed heads as broom if you collect couple of them to arrange together in form of bouquet.

There are many millets in the world. Sorghum is sometimes called "great millet", proso millet is fast maturing. Finger millet looks absolutely bizarre. I have experience with none of these, but I intend to grow sorghum.

Most people I hear speak of "chaff" in the sense of grain duff use the same A as in CAT, PACK, and GANDER, not as in CAKE, PASTE, and TAME. Your pronunciation can be misinterpreted as "chafe", which is a verb, and a noun deriving from the verb meaning heat or injury caused by friction.

Depends on the size of the pot. Not much. You need to plant a huge amount to get a little, like most grains.

Our biggest threat is deer eating the plants before they even seed. So we had to put in very high fences.

This was Proso Millet. We also plant German Millet.
