Quinalt and Eversweet are two types of strawberries that are everbearing. They produce fruit all summer long. I have planted both in my garden recently as I am converting from June bearing to everbearing. In comparing the two it is my opinion Quinalt has a little softer sweeter berry. one of the nice things about Eversweet is that it produces runners that can be used to transplant and increase your berry patch. Quinalt does not put out nearly as many runners.

Thanks for sharing! I just ordered some Eversweet plants to extend my strawberry bed and harvest season. This is a great reference for what I should expect from my existing June-bearing plants being in a 2'x20' strip that I'm doubling in length for this new variety.

My albion everbearings are super sweet and did well their first year. More of a dessert type though.

Hello!🙂 I have Quinault strawberries. What do you use as fertilizer and how often do you fertilize.
@FlanaganHomestead

Excellent berries. Everbearing strawberries like quinalt need a small amounts of fertilizer every few weeks. Most people would recommend a 10-10-10 but I have 16-16-16 I use in my vegetable garden and will place that on my quinalt. Starting now with a little is great. Do light amounts at the start of the month throughout the growing season.

No. I just lose some to the birds. The netting is an annoying hassle

I just got my strawberry plants like yours, the Eversweet Everbearing. I hope mine grow well. I guess I need to get them out of containers because in summer in Louisiana anything in containers needs water every 4 hours. @@FlanaganHomestead

@@baneverything5580 I hope you love your berries. Yes get them in the ground. Unless your property has horrible soil most plants will do better and not need as much constant attention if planted in the ground.

I`m having to haul in wagons of soil from the woods to slowly build a garden. My rural lot may be the only one in the state of Louisiana bulldozed down to hard pack red soil and covered in inches of gravel. And I can`t afford to buy soil, have no transportation, and have disabilities and no help. I`ve made a lot of progress though. I have to order everything so of course they lost the bag of fertilizer then made me wait another two weeks before refunding my money. I have some nutrients I use for indoor growing and just decided to use that. My nephew is too busy gaming to take me (ever) to a physical store to get supplies and he hates fruit, vegetables, etc. I did manage to get an extremely expensive tiny bag of lime to raise the PH and finally get some growth of turnips, radishes, and onions. The soil is really bad here and I`m having to learn how to do everything far differently than we did on our farm with what I have. Can`t use manure anymore because it`s toxic to plants. I suppose rabbit manure should be avoided too. Strawberries like acidic soil so they should do well in the forest soil with a little fertilizer. I`m starting huge compost piles with leaves and grass clippings but I think my nephew sprayed my lawn with weed killer without telling me. Something isn`t right. Weed killer makes weeds grow like crazy but ruins vegetables and nothing will grow in this yard even in places where there is some topsoil up near my camper. I`ve never had all these issues before but my nephew came down here before they moved my camper so I`m sure he sprayed that crap everywhere. If I can simply keep the strawberries alive this year until I can research growing them in hydro indoors I`ll be happy. @@FlanaganHomestead

@@baneverything5580 you definitely do have some challenges. Don’t give up. I think you could also compost table scraps. That may help. Spots that don’t grow anything that are near vehicles may have leaked oil in the soil. You can’t see it but it stunts growth. Years ago I moved onto a property and there was a spot nothing could grow. Turns out they parked a car there that leaked oil. I had to dig the whole area out to get growth there.

Oh, please repent! Christmas is of pagan origin and has nothing to do with Yeshua (Jesus). He died on Passover, rose on First Fruits, and the Spirit descended on Shavuot (aka Pentecost). The fall feasts (Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Last Great Day) will be fulfilled at his second coming. Please keep the true feasts that God commanded us to. Jeremiah 10: 2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

I love your passion for Jesus. I share your passion and we do celebrate other feasts. However, the original church did not set apart a day to celebrate his birth. I know the 25th of December is not the actual day Christ was born but it is not wrong to celebrate the day God came down in the flesh.
