Yeah you might wanna be careful with the straw. The hay and straw growers are using a lot of grazon these days and if your straw came from a field treated with it then your bales will have it. If that gets into your garden it won't stop your seeds from germinating but the damage to the plants will manifest around the 2nd or 3rd set of leaves. The plants will be stunted and unproductive and the residual lasts for years.
@inharmonywithearth99822 жыл бұрын
It is not biodegradable and they spray it on at harvest to kill the hay and grain nowadays ( topping) so it dries super fast because it is dying from hormone disruption. You are right it is very bad stuff and even survives to kill after going completley through a cow's entire rumen system!
@annellacannella5674 Жыл бұрын
Yes. Grazon is a scourge. It wouldn’t hurt the sugar cane of course. But it is a persistent herbicide that would affect the figs and the artichoke. Who knows what it is doing to us! Of course the company that makes it can’t be sued for damages due to high powered lawyer speak, but you can go after the poor farmer that grew the hay/straw. ……so messed up.

Get more fruits and make a mexican fruit punch, sugar cane is easier to chew after boiled and it will absorb the other fruits flavor. The most traditional is to use dried plum, guava, tejocote, apple, hibiscus flower (jamaica), cinnamon sticks, and the sugar cane. Boil that in water with piloncillo or brown sugar for a while and serve it in cups, with a spoon to eat the fruit. You can also put some Brandy on it.

I’m from Louisiana. And I’ll say that the first thing you do is peel the skin off of the cane. Then chew and suck the juice out of it. It will make it easier on your juicer too if you go that route.

Yes chewing the stick you get the enjoyment of chewing it and not as much sugar as drinking it. I went to Costa Rica and really enjoyed the sugar cane sticks.

I live just north of Toronto. I have been looking up sugarcane production and I came across your video and about 4:29 you show how dark the sugarcane liquid is. I saw on another video that from the sugarcane Leaves or the outside of the Kane was boiled down and the extract from it is molasses. That is why it’s a dark brown color. I think I am zone 5b or 5a and if I can’t grow sugarcane outside I will try it as a house plant thanks for the video❤

Health Benefits of Sugarcane Juice: The antioxidants in sugarcane juice help to fighting against infections and boost the immunity system of the body. Sugarcane juice also acts a good digestive aid due to the presence of potassium. Studies show that sugarcane juice protects against tooth decay and bad breath due to its high mineral content.

@mattmccoy73642 жыл бұрын
I guess the thief on the cross didn’t make it into heaven then, without baptism? Jesus saves us… trusting in him is how, not baptism. Baptism is important. But the Bible nowhere says that remission of sins takes place at baptism. It takes place when we trust in him. Otherwise, Jesus wouldn’t be able to keep that promise to the guy beside him on the cross.
