This week the world lost an incredible force of good, the godmother of the modern documentary, Julia Reichert, whose groundbreaking work inspired countless filmmakers that followed - including 17-year-old Michael Moore in 1971 when he drove his parents' car to Ann Arbor to watch her first film, Growing Up Female, a subversive feminist documentary, in an auditorium on the University of Michigan campus. Years later, they would become friends, and today on Rumble, Michael pays tribute to Julia.
Also, fresh off the United States Men’s soccer team’s loss in the 2022 World Cup, Michael shares his take on the world’s game of football, and gives one final push to Rumble listeners to Get Out the Vote for Senator Raphael Warnock before the final midterm runoff election in Georgia this Tuesday.
For more of Michael’s work, subscribe to his Substack at MichaelMoore.com.

Thank you so much for being a feminist. Nothing better than a male feminist. I am a survivor of that time period. Our daughters really need to hear this. We fought too hard to let our rights be rolled back.

What we need is a strong, _truly progressive_ Democrat presidential candidate to replace Biden or we'll get the Orange Man again. Is it too soon for Kamala Harris? Is Elizabeth Warren a contender? How strong is the national appeal for AOC? This is something we need to push on NOW so Biden *doesn't* run again.

Ann Arbor, such a great place for so many things. Growing up women is not just something for the last century. It goes back even more than recorded history 2,000 years or more for our genetic background. My take is the male of the human race has subjugated or tried to subjugate non-male humans for all recorded history. Others who are brave enough to challenge the Dogma of human existence works to get there voice heard. Thank you Michael for sharing your heart and mind.

I never gave a thought to the fact that I was female. I just knew what I wanted to do so I did it. It helped that my father treated me like a full partner in his business from the time I was 12 and I intended to follow in his footsteps although women didn't do that job back then. Now it's as much if not most a women's business but there were very few of us then. Almost none at all.

I loved this episode. The antidote using sports as a metaphor for American values spoke volumes to me of the self centered mindset we have. Win at all costs, no matter how injustice impacts those around you. Huh. This is a Christian Nation? Gee, that's just what Jesus taught us, right? Mow over your opponent cause it's all about winning, damn the consequences .

I've never been tuned into the sports world, but there's something inherently evil about the World Cup being hosted in a black hole like Qatar. What a perfect-yet-insane example of bread & circuses ignoring the misery that's around them.

The women's liberation movement influenced my sisters and me in a huge way having grown up in the 60s and 70s. I'm just glad my parents were also very progressive and encouraged us to go to college and follow our dreams instead of "settling down and having kids". None of us ever did, lol! 😂 #NoRegrets

To the memory of Julia Reichert. Thanks Michael, for putting it out. When Rickie Fowler was announced to tee off at the '15 Presidents Cup, the Aussie fans started singing Rickie Rickie you're so fine... Don't know how Rickie felt but as an American myself, I thought it was cool.

I can't wait to get back to the west coast or at least somewhere in the western United States although I'm also considering Verizon or leaving the country entirely although I'm not sure where. @@leealexander3507 I live in central Oregon. It’s high, hot and dry in the summer where I live and freezing in the winter. Because of the altitude the sun is gone early. We do have great rivers and nice trees in the mountains - but no giant redwoods sadly. I would say don’t move to a high desert unless you know that you like that sort of thing. Some people love it. I miss California - the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful Redwood forests.

@@Queenie-the-genie & Lee Alexander: Did Lee mean Arizona when she said Verizon? If so, Flagstaff or Sedona would be your best bet bioregion-wise, but they're not cheap. Yes, OR or WA are your best bets - though Minnesota, northern Michigan, & Vermont are also more humane places to live. Kathleen, I still live near the lovely redwoods but that sadly won't last - CA is just too $$$ now & from nickel & dimeing everyone to death. It's the RV life 4 me.

Michael, Thank You . I grew up in the late 1950's -1960's. As a woman never felt I was given a chance to be all I could be , due to my sex . Even my self professed liberal minded parents , did not plan for my future ( collage education and right to be self sufficient) due to my sex. Since Girls were supposed to be married and mothers . It seems women are just born to breed , and serve their families , The Church dose a lot to support this problem . Condemning women for having out of wedlock sex , or relationships . Honestly being a woman in the 20th century was not Liberating ....Rather exploitive and deeply disappointing. I wish I had another life to live it all better , and free of male dominance .PS I love Children and motherhood .

I hope this gives you thought about the importance of sex on our lives and the current gender identity cult aweeping the West. Women have been subjugated to horrendous abuse and prejudice due to our FEMALE SEX but now gender identity ideology would have the public believe a man is suffering even worse oppression if he calls himself a woman than an actual adult human female. There are (genitals intact) men in womens prisons in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, many other European countries too, this is torture for women in those prisons who are more often likely to have suffered domestic violence and sexual abuse at the hands of men.
