Gather ‘round this week as Alyson Stoner joins the circle! As someone who grew up acting in many of my favorite TV shows and movies, Alyson tells us what it was really like for them to be in the spotlight at such a young age. We discuss everything from the long term effects it’s had, to what their favorite and least favorite set to be on was.

Alyson talking about their experience with having to not let yourself get attached to people reminds me of things I felt having to move a lot as a kid. not trusting that people will stay in your life.

Growing up, I wanted to be Alyson Stoner because I wanted to be a backup dancer for Missy Elliott. Alyson was a main driver for why I got into competitive dance. When they touched on their perfectionism and competitive nature, that hit home for me. I loved this EP!

It’s so interesting to hear that she felt like she wasn’t as educated since she graduated so young; it definitely makes sense that she would feel that way, but it’s surprising because just from the way she speaks it’s so apparent that it’s not the case. As someone who graduated at 18, I didn’t feel that high school even taught me anything useful, and I know Alyson is far more knowledgeable than I am!

Not an actor, but I can relate to when Alyson talks about needing to shut it off when you leave work. The ability to do this is SO important, even in more typical jobs. I’ve gotten to a place where I can do this now and it is so much healthier rather than being obsessed with work 24/7

Circle time team I have a request!!!!! Can you guys start linking companies/projects/websites/books/places etc. that your interviewers mention? Alyson mentions a company she co-founded around 28:00 and I would love to know more, but can’t seem to find it! If it’s not too much trouble, maybe start putting link in description? thank you guys so much for everything you do already. I love you all! Love you marsh!!!
