It’s just American or Latin Christianity it’s very toxic like I’m a British Roman Catholic and we have no problem with gay people like there’s many gay or bi people at my school the only thing we don’t allow is gay marriage but that’s cause you have to be able to give birth to get married but they’ll just tell you to get married outside the church

I grew up in Opus Dei, a cult (or "personal prelature") within Catholicism. I ran away a few years back. When introducing myself to a priest at a new parish I accidentally outed myself. When I got to the end of my sentence and realized what I had done, I was horrified. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. Then I looked at the priest's expression. It hadn't changed. It was like I hadn't just said what I said. He *accepted me* for who I was. At a later date when he took my confession, he *apologized* for misgendering me (on accident) during absolution. I was floored.

Listen I know you're well meaning and trying to show the love of Christ, I appreciate that. But the thing that bothers me is how almost all of the replies that say something something along the lines of you are loved and deserve to be loved have that extra line of that everybody subs and God forgives all sin. It feels akin to someone sliding in a last minute sly remark or jab, even if you don't mean it that way

@@noorjennahkuddah7620 I did assume you were Christian because of the phrasing, typically I have heard the word "God" used for Christianity and other names for different religions, but I am sorry for wrongly assuming. To explain a little, it just feels like a jab typically because when people say God loves you and then say everyone sins it's kind of like saying "hey, I love and support you but i secretly hold a little something against you"and I've heard it a lot in response to people coming out. Jab may not be the right word either, more of a nagging feeling or a slightly bad aftertaste

@@arcaneshrimp5566 I can completely understand but in my mind people accusing others of sin is actually worse than the so called sin. I call it sin and use that phrase because yes it is not meant as a means of hurting you or anyone else except those that use it as a weapon to harm others. Religion for me is all inclusive and not about people holding themselves as better than someone else because of "sin" when not a darn one of us is perfection ( except me of course 🤣🤣🤣🤣 sorry my halo fell 🤣🤣🤣😂😂) . The beauty of humanity is that we are different....we were made to learn to love and exist peacefully together. I am not perfect but what does it hurt to be loving and kind to others...we all have our battle scars in life....religion should not be a weapon and love with kindness should be the standard. So, now I will tell you there are many people that have inspired me that were secretly gay for years.....and I learned that we all have purpose because who we sleep with and fall in love with are nobody's business but our own and if they make you happy and feel who is anyone else to judge....this is what I suppose may have been a bit better said? 😍

This is the problem with people... Y'all talk about God according to how YOU FEEL, not biblically. Let's see if God loves everyone Romans 9:13 [13]As it is written, Jacob have I loved, *but Esau have I hated.* News flash, God hates. Guess what else? God did command us to hate let's get it Amos 5:15 [15] *Hate the evil, and love the good,* and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. Good is the commandments (Romans 7:12) so the opposite of the good commandments is breaking them. So we are command to hate. Stop talking out your heart and start reading the book it's that simple

People keep spouting verses from the bible confirming that God condemns sexuality but keep in mind that the Bible has been translated from its original language. The different versions of the bible in english can't even collectively agree on what the translation is for Leviticus 20:13. For all we know the bible might have been condemning pedophilia as it was extremely common for pedophilia between adult men and male children. At this point, only God really knows what the Bible actually means. But do know that God does love and that Jesus loved humankind so much that he died for us. (Btw, you can find a bunch of articles detailing how the Bible might have been mistranslated. It really is quite interesting)

I'm not a Catholic and my family neither, but I attended church when I was a child in order to get confirmation and communion, because I'm an Italian and it was like a tradition. When we became teenagers one time they give us like a sex education lesson. I'm not in the LGBTQ community, but I have friends in it and I was always very supportive. They told us that being homosexual was a mental disorder that could be cured and they let us know where to go if we wanted to. I was so angry! I wish nowadays nobody will believe that, but it should be forbidden to say such things to little eleven-twelve years old guys. It's something you can really believe growing up and this is so dangerous.

I am Catholic and straight so I can't completely relate to the Catholics on this video but I also grew up hearing that if you're LGBTQ+ that you're going to Hell in the church and my parents. Both sides of my family are Catholic and incredibly homophobic. I have two cousins who are gay but it's like the elephant in the room; we don't acknowledge it so it doesn't exist. I wouldn't ask them about it to make them uncomfortable but it makes no difference to me. I personally don't care about anyone being gay; just do you 🤷🏼‍♀️ Everyone deserves love and with Pope Francis' message of accepting all member of the LGBTQ+ community because scorning others is not a Catholic/Christian thing to do; I'm glad that we finally have a leader of our Faith who encourages acceptance and loving everyone without adding a clause.

If people really love Jesus they would share the gospel to those who are in sin. There have been people who have gone to hell and purgatory and have seen the agony that people are going through. Since we are all brothers and sisters we have to care for each other and help out each other and pray for one another. Jesus wants us to Love but not accept the sin, because with pure love sin is destroyed. Because with love we follow his laws and the commandments.

@@basedchadnerd it’s not about whether or not I believe it is a sin or not as man does not have the authority to decide what sin is. That’s God job. However, I will note that the Bible and Jesus in the scriptures are very explicit when it comes to what is sin Exodus 20 lists of the Ten Commandments which are very clear and direct as are Jesus’ teachings. Nowhere in the Bible does God or Jesus explicitly condemn homosexuality and verses that are used to do so by churches are often taken out of context in order to be used as weapons. In fact, the word “homosexuality” did not appear in the Bible until 1946 in the RSV translation when it was used in place of the Greek word “arsenokoitai”. However, in previous translations, even in the Germanic texts of Martin Luther from the 1500s, that word was used to condemn men who molested young boys. So, now in the English Leviticus 20:13 reads “Man shall not lie with man, for it is an abomination” when for hundreds of years beforehand it read “Man shall not lie with young boys as he does with women, for it an abomination”

Obviously you have no idea what scripture means when it says love one another... I'll educate you 2 John 1:6 [6] *And this is love, that we walk after his commandments.* This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. Love is when you keep the laws of God. So loving one another means keeping the commandments with one another. Really you hate your daughter because you are aiding her in her sin and the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23... So you are literally aiding her to her death. You are a murderer.

So you can't blame a person that follows a religion if they disagree with how someone is or bahaves when it goes against the teachings of their religion. So as a Christian, I believe that we are ALL sinners and there are no sins that are worse than another one. I believe that a man sleeping with another man is a sin, the Bible makes that clear. I also believe that people will always be fallible by nature, we ALL deserve to be shown love and hating someone based on their sins is the opposite of the message Jesus has given us that read and understand the Bible. Some Christians give us all a very bad image and doing it in the name of Jesus disgusts me. Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me (Matthew 16:24). I’m sorry to hear about those in this video and others who have been abused and insulted because of their sexual orientation. That’s just wrong. In the Christian worldview, our identifies are found in Christ, not in our sexual orientation, wealth, or popularity. Jesus loves us enough to accept us as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us where we are. Being a Christian is truly a transformative experience for anyone into a new creation with new desires, that’s what it’s all about! I believe we can respectfully disagree without having to label Christians as being homophobic and transphobic. We can have productive conversations about biblical and personal values without resorting to name calling and sweeping categorical labels.

Same, if I come out then my mom would probably just hate me or just say "maybe you still don't know, you are still a bit young, you are still not an adult yet." Or maybe her saying "it's not ok, it may be a sin."

I grew up in and around various religions following Christ until I learned how much genocide his followers did, including our native American and Alaskan Native people and how viciously that genocide is defended by any follower of Christ, including our own native people. I've read articles about followers of Christ are still harassing native people here in the US. I'm bisexual as well and I've lost family and friends that were religious simply because of my sexuality. I've known pretty much only hate from any christian or any religion following Christ. We can do so much better without the threat of eternal torture just for simply being born.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as well as pansexual and transgender. This is my experience: I came out when I Was 15 to my bishop and he immediately sent me to church- run conversion therapy. Ever since then I have been living a double life so the church still thinks I am straight and cis. I am planning on leaving the church as soon as I am 100% living on my own. It sucks because I do love a lot of things that they teach, but if they do not accept me, who needs them? Most of the members accept me for who I am, but the leaders do not and I risk excommunication when I medically transition.

I have honestly involved God so much in figuring out my sexuality and gender, too. To anybody who tells me what I'm doing is wrong and I am sinning I tell them that it is not and God knows that too.

Hi Piper, I’m a member of the LDS Church as well. I am so sorry about your experience. Conversion therapy is wrong and I don’t agree with the policy of getting excommunicated for transitioning. When you leave the church, I hope that you find the peace and acceptance that you deserve. If you still believe in God, that relationship will always be precious to Him even if it looks different from others.

Romans 4:2-8 [2]For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. [3]For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. [4]Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. [5]But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. [6]Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, [7]Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. [8]Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Hahah, Ok, let's talk about it. In Rom 1;24-28 it is written Doing "unspeakable" acts one to another, and it is made very clear that love is talking about the practice of same-gender sex/LGBTQ. You, people, are attempting to abolish love's law against the practice of same-gender sex simply because you are the ones that are so hateful of the law. Let's talk about why you, people, hate and deny love's law against the practice of same-gender sex. Let's talk about why you are trying to force others to join you in your defiance, and hatred of love's law. Let's talk about what makes you "think" your opinion is above loves law forbidding homosexuality/LGBTQ. Let's talk about by what authority do you 'think' you have over love, sex, and marriage, and not God (love). Let's talk about Matt 19;5, where Jesus quotes God (love) from Gen 2;18, Gen 2;22-24, Mark 10;6-9, For this reason, a MAN shall leave his FATHER and MOTHER to be with his WIF; What God (love) has put together let no "mankind" take apart. Let's talk about all the verse in the living word of God (love) that clearly speaks against your LGBTQ sexual immorality, let's start with Jude 1;7...Ready?😊😊😊

Jesus is love. And the church is love. I am so so sorry that the church hurt you. Im so sorry. But please don't let it turn you away from Jesus. He wants to make you whole and love you as you are. Seek Him and He will reveal Himself to you. Jesus is the only way to be whole and experience true love. Trust in Him.

My sister and I are both asexual, I’m not sure about my romantic orientation yet, but seeing how people in my church viewed the lives of LGBTQAI+ people was one of the things that pushed me away from it. I hate Christianity and I hate the idea of god. Like before my sister and I were “out” we always showed our support for the community because our parents always told us to be supportive and loving of people. We celebrated the legalization of gay marriage on Facebook and a girl (youth leaders daughter I think? Or pastor? I don’t remember) approached my sister and told her how disgusting and inappropriate her Facebook post was. Another time they brought in some popular preacher, it pulled a bunch of new people in that Sunday. He kept showing his disgust for the queer community and I just wanted to leave. I hated it all. So I left. However it is funny though, because I went to church camp and most of the people I went to camp with are now out as LGBTQAI+. And it’s kinda of wholesome because I still have several of those friends even though it’s been 10+ years.

@An3Stn ace is no sexual attraction, not sex repulsion. Some people don’t like it at all, some are sex positive. Romantic orientation also falls into play with asexuality, because some people may be asexual but heteromantic, or asexual bi-romantic, it’s a spectrum. BUT yes as a whole it is quite ironic how someone could be ace and the church would still hate them lmao
