I am in awe of this place as I just realized it is a different location than the town of Akumal, MX. What kind of budget would be minimal to live there and can you rent rather than purchase property?

@@carmenbauche5785 - thanks for the information. International Living mag is where I heard of Akumal, but stumbled across Puerto Aventuras on KZbin videos. It is likely too pricey for me as I wanted to keep my monthly rental cost under $1000/month. I did find an apartment to rent for a vacation at about $75/night which I thought was good for beachfront 2BR.

We wintered in Puerto Aventuras for 13 years. Not a very authentic Mexican experience but a safe and lovely place for sure! We'd always rent a car to venture into the interior of the Yucatan. Merida, Vallodolid and Lake Bacalar are fabulous places to visit.

Another great video! You've introduced me to another fantastic location on the Maya Riviera that I hadn't heard of. Having recently retired and after 28 years in the Seattle area, originally from Santa Monica/Venice CA, I'm ready to relocate to a warmer, drier climate. A few locations in Mexico and Southern France are at the top of my list and I really appreciate all that I've learned about both of these areas through your channel. Thank you all so much!

You discovered my favorite place in the world. We've own a villa in Portobello since 2005. The fresh squeezed orange juice and the home made granola are the hidden gems at the farmer's market. I love everything about Puerto Aventuras (although, if I had to complain about 1 thing, is there seems to be more cars and trucks within the community every year). Thank you for walking around and taking video - all of my favorite places. You're at Hippos - they have excellent scallops. I would recommend Cafe Ole - live entertainment every night and the best pies, and also Papacitos - the best tacos.

We have been coming to this gorgeous area for almost 9 seasons! We have rented a condo in the exactly the same place for 2 years for a period of time. We are headed back in the new year. It was fun to see you exploring our home away from home. The french cafe does have the most delicious cheese cake! Glad you were there when the seaweed was not thick. Jesse Gelato has the best icecream! We escape the Canadian winter.

I agree with you about the dolphins in captivity is controversial. In Cuba around Cayo Coco there are deep sea tours that take you to swim with the dolphins in their natural environment. It is so much better for the dolphins and more fun for us humans.

I don't like to see the Dolphins , Seals, Whales etc enclosed like that. Very sad for them. Picasso needed a little dental help. But he did not seem like he was having trouble eating what ever his lady friend gave him to eat. Enjoyed the video.
