Low key was expecting Lumalee to be a part of a one scene segment or have similar role to Phyills in The Lego Batman Movie. I was not expecting them to be a part of the movie as a Bowser prisoner. I don't even know what to say at this point. This movie WILL be the first animated movie since the pandemic to hit and go further beyond 1 billion dollars. Also I will be seeing the movie in IMAX with my dad the plumber so that's nice.

This sounds weird, but Luigi meeting the Luma and the Penguins made me feel relieved. The movie's marketing implies that he'll spend the entire plot in captivity. The way I see it, Luigi will escape on his own and use the Luma and the Penguins to fight Bowser from the inside. It's The Super Mario BROS Movie. Not the Mario, Peach, Toad and DK Movie. Woe betide Illumination if this isn't the case. Because no matter how many awesome visuals and Easter eggs they feature: they will get absolutely shit on if they waste Luigi.

This movie and its marketing manage to surprise me every single time I see them... as someone who's been a Mario fan for practically all my life just like you (slightly longer since it's been two full decades and some for me) I can't wait to watch the full movie, too! By the way, a comment I've read said that they might have referenced the N64 Rainbow Road shortcut in this trailer and I wouldn't be surprised if that were true considering the attention to detail has been absolutely insane!
