You don't have to like the reveal or console if you don't, it's not the most cleverly executed reveal of all time or most creative showcase & concept by any stretch, opinions be opinioning, but this is the most insular, myopic take so far I've seen responding to this reveal. The same exact thing happened with the Switch 1. Investors pulled out when even they knew of the console, they turned around once they showed more games in the January presentation. We didn't know it's specs & capabilities by then just like w/ Switch 2. A 7% decrease isn't gonna kill Nintendo when the Switch 1's reveal & several points of its life hit lows as bad & worse than that and ultimately way more highs. Investors can & have invested way more in Nintendo's stocks following the January presentation showing more games, when we got specs details, more games as the system went on, Super Nintendo World, the Mario Movie, the Switch Lite, etc. Investors matter, but they're just as fickle and susceptible to swerving as the people buying these products, it's very likely that stock's gonna increase just like w/ Switch 1 the closer we get to the Direct, the in person showcases, the launch, the holiday, etc. Pretending they're this permanent end all be all is unrealistic to how stocks work. Trying to justify any marginal subjective interest in a new console as blind fanboyism on top is really childish. Of the 146+ million people that invested & enjoyed the Switch, even if half, a quarter or even less than that number of people buy Switch 2, ignoring the fact the vast sum of consumers objectively don't think the same way investors do, I've seen & talked to plenty of casual gamers who touched none of the leaks sold on Switch 2. Plenty of casuals and hardcore gaming fans not even just us online expressed interest in the upgrades compared to Switch 1, the size overall, the fact it's directly succeeding the system that put them on the map again, Mario Kart 9, the potential in software, the potential in specs & hardware once more details drop, etc. and more reasons to be interested in the system. Switch 1 got that exact feedback & response, not as universal, but still voluminous regardless. What line of thinking gets people to justify any of this that legit every console got responded with as blind fanboyism, who thinks like this, genuinely?? Business goes beyond initial investments, especially this early. You don't have to care about Switch 2, I'm sorry Switch 2 disappointed you, but it's silly to say anyone thinking differently than you is dumber. Low functioning cognition is this weird elitist ego over a piece of plastic that should've been left behind in the 2010s, it's literal 2nd grade behavior. It's not convincing or winning anyone over. It's never that serious in the end but try to be more open minded next time & not tunnel vision a subjective take while implying zero desire to really understand what others are saying different from you & what could realistically happen.
