Been using this for over 20 years (plus the shampoo) Love it. Used it a few years before I was diagnosed with cancer. It made my hair stronger, which helped my hair grow. After losing all my hair, I was able to grow it past my waist. I have fine hair, so I kept it off my scalp and concentrated on my actual hair. Once a month, combined with olive oil for a deep treatment. Love the shampoo. In my case, my hair is shiny. It really depends on the person.

Ahhhh yes. Horse products. I can't use those either. So, here we go with the reality of horse products: Fact: They don't create faster growth, they prevent hair breakage. Horses, being outdoors etc, catch their mane and tails on a lot, namely, burrs. I hate those things with a passion. So, horses get a ton of breakage which then leads to a thin tail (manes are never an issue). These products are designed for horse hair, which is very, very, very thick and coarse. It creates slip (mane and tail is no different), which allows the tail to glide over things it would normally be caught in. I remember the big craze of the 90s in using Mane and Tail products and I tried it and my hair turned to mush. My hair HATES protein with a passion. I love that you tried this! I do know that there is a product to make horse hooves stronger, for which makes human nails rock hard, but I haven't seen it here for eons. It's a german hoof hardener and the tack shop I saw it at no longer carries it because only my friend was buying it. They are German and imported it to the store here :D My Mom's friend loved the stuff and was bummed when they stopped carrying it, though 1 tiny jar lasted her about 7 years ;) I suggest trying the ICON line if you can find it--their detoxifying shampoo is designed to stimulate hair folicles to promote growth. I used that line when my scalp was mega angry from hormonal imbalances and thus, bad dandruff and it saved my poor sore scalp. It's only sold in salons as far as I know. I.C.O.N is the correct spelling.

Yeah, I tried it as well and it worked horribly for me! It worked wonders for my horse, but it turned my hair into a stringy dry/greasy mess 😂

I think it's key to keep the scalp happy and maybe that is why the growth is less this month, because of an irritated scalp. I have SD (seborrheic dermatitis), which means any oil or conditioner on my scalp "feeds the fungus" (SD = fungal overgrowth) and makes flakes appear, my scalp go itchy and possibly red from irritation. I use Nizoral 2% (medicated shampoo) as I was diagnosed with it. In the US the 1% Nizoral is OTC, the 2% is not (in Belgium we can get the 2% OTC just fine), but maybe that will work much better than H&S (I'm almost sure it will). I would not mess with the scalp too much. But thanks for taking one for the team! :)

I love this idea! I’ve read that hair grows faster in warm weather, so maybe a way to account for that variable is to repeat the “baseline” month periodically :)

Hi Britt! Once again, your hair looks amazing! Your "ends" are looking very strong and thick! "I" have also been experimenting with some new products that some long hair growers on youtube have been using. One is the Nexxus Humectress conditioner. One girl on youtube says she uses just this conditioner to "wash" her hair instead of shampoo. I just use it as a conditioner sometimes. Another product that I really like is the "CHI" silk infusion. Again, a girl on youtube uses this and coconut oil on her hair length in the morning and at night. I have tried it using the argon and jojaba oil in the morning and night and love it! I still use the coconut oil but that is when I do my weekly deep conditioning treatment. I have also liked the Renpure products, Shea Moisture products, and of course the conditioner that you recommended on youtube, the Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal (great stuff!). My hair is reaching my "navel" now so I am doing pretty good on the "length"...still a ways to go to get where you are though! lol! I'm trying! lol! I also heard that "rice water" is good and I will be trying that also. Anyway, as always, I enjoyed your video!

Megatek does work. Maybe they changed the formula but I tried it a few years ago and it worked wonders. My formula was white like conditioner and it smelled like coconuts.
@ShandaP0185 жыл бұрын
It sure did. They changed the formula a few years ago. I remember having a literal inch of growth in a month ( I'm an extremely slow grower) after a dermatitis break out that left me with patches.

I used it. I cut my hair to my ears (barley could put it in a pony tail and in 6m my hair was past my shoulders. Back in 2010. Everyone committed on how fast it grew back. I used it everyday. I used the shampoo EVERYDAY ..because I was so light..then I deep conditioned with a heat cap 1 hour. 70% was on my scalp and used it lightly on my hair. My profile pics on Facebook show my journey and it worked amazingly well. It was just very expensive and time consuming to use it that much

I'm about to finish my Andalou Naturals shampoo and conditioner which I LOVE because they smell like ylang ylang and other essential oils! It's such an aromatherapeutic experience washing my hair, and washing my hair is pretty much my only effective coping skill haha. But I'm transitioning slowly from those into a low-poo method using a castile soap-based DIY shampoo, then onto a strict no-poo. I'm really hoping this will help my scalp psoriasis, but we'll see!

I wonder if you could help me. I had very long hair like yours but had a thyroid problem and if my hair hadn’t been thick I would be bald. My texture is different and the loss has slowed but I look awful. Do you have any idea what could make my hair turn around?
@n3oflamer6 жыл бұрын
Hey, not sure if you will see this but here I go! Did you follow up the protein treatment with a moisturizing, deep conditioner? This is absolutely essential if you use a heavy protein treatment! Just using the protein product alone will make the hair kinda dry, crunchy, and meh.

I like this idea, like you, i'm very skeptical and put growth rates down to genetics, although we can make a difference in looking after the hair that grows rather than having to cut off damage. If there was a wonder product that made hair grow, and or grow faster, we wouldn't have bald men, and other probs. Hehe my eyebrows wouldn't be so thin either, if something topical could make hair grow :) This will be interesting.. the inversion method is a big one i've been seeing a lot of, but i can see how stimulating the circulation might help, we'll see next month eh?

borgessa3 The only FDA approved product for hair growth is Rogaine. While it did grow some hair of mine, it looked more like peach fuzz. Now I don't think I grow more hair, it just prevents hair fall. Stem cell research is a new method and I've read a treatment can be available by 2020. We shall see!
@borgessa36 жыл бұрын
Fingers crossed, I have three sons who need something .. Male pattern baldness runs strongly in my family.. They are so young only early 20's and one is nearly lost it all. Not that he still isn't gorgeous :) They sell Rogaine here, (New Zealand) but the chemist yrs told me, when I asked if it would work, that if he knew of something that actually worked, he'd be a gazzillonaire, so never bothered with it.
@leslie64856 жыл бұрын
I'm from NZ too. Rogaine is pricey and is required to be used twice a day (at least for me). I suffer from female pattern baldness and my hair is pretty thin at the top. I've tried all sorts of treatments from hair tonics, hair vitamins, Eucapil, hair growth shampoos...you name it, I've tried it! My doctor prescribes Rogaine, and I use a needle roller too (I don't see much difference, tbh). Other treatments include the laser light which I'm still unsure of. For men, baldness is more acceptable. But for women, it's more tricky and can affect your self esteem. I truly hope the stem cell research can provide results.
@borgessa36 жыл бұрын
Your so right, it is more acceptable in men, I'm always so happy to run into another Kiwi online, where are you. I'm in Auckland. Rogaine I thought was a shampoo, so couldn't have imagined using it twice a day...
@leslie64856 жыл бұрын
I'm from Auckland as well. Rogaine is a foam product applied to the scalp in the morning and night. There's a tonic, sort of liquidy one too but it leaves your hair greasy looking. I prefer the foam. I recommend you buy (if you decide to) the mens' Rogaine. There's a women version too, but it's way pricier and they're both exactly the same (according to my doctor).

Could you try coconut oil?
@migrainemama79326 жыл бұрын
Scarlett's Secret ASMR I wash my hair every day with conditioner. And then I put coconut oil on it twice a week I let that soak in. I have donated my hair four times. This would be the last time. It has grown 7 inches in nine months. Would you attribute that to only washing with conditioner or the use of coconut oil? Thanks in advance!!!!

Soooo many claims out there but when I listen to people that know how hair grows, the science behind it I mean, they say all hair grows about 1/2” a month 6” per year. I hope you find something that works.

@peersvensson92536 жыл бұрын
I'm very skeptical of any growth boosting products or technique. I've seen people say that they got 2" of growth in one month with various different methods and I frankly don't believe it, it's more likely that they don't measure accurately or subconsciously bias their measurements.
@1Robbinh2 жыл бұрын
You used the product incorrectly. You do not use after each wash because it is protein treatment, using it to often causes a protein overload. Protein overload will cause hair breakage. You should only use when your hair needs protein.
