I feel the height thing so much, because I am 5’11, and my friend is 5’4, and her hair is like 2 inches longer based on where it lays on our body, but my hair is actually longer. She however believes that her hair is just sooo much longer than mine, and I just really want to whip out a tape measure and settle it once and for all.

All shampoos are pretty much equally effective. Bangs if they suit your face shape. She has not tried hair soaps before. Hair is shiny because partially genetics, she takes care of it and silicone conditioners - a shine boosting product. Good diet is important. Watch diet video by britt. No sea salt spray because salt can dry out hair pulling moisture out. Everybody kinda loves her long hair now so no pressure to cut. KZbin have so many people trying to grow out long hair. Long hair does give headaches. Tip is to make bun at different areas of head followed before by a braid. Worst hair experiences was hair getting trimmed too much and hair caught on fire. She started growing out her hair in 2nd week of college. Washes her hair every other day. White dots best way is to trim. Single strand knots also cut.

I think moisturizing well is key to keep splits away and also SSKs (single strand knots). That is why I double condition, or double mask after sulfate shampooing, and also do an oil rinse (only the lengths with a tiny amount of baby oil), especially in winter time. I also then still do the LOC/LCO method for styling. I get so much moisturization from using this method!

Those white dots are the bane of my mane! Between trims, I find the best way to deal with them is to stay busy so I’m not even thinking about my hair. I should go for a trim though, it’s been five months.
@manuelagmz1077 жыл бұрын
White dots are breakage and after they break, they turn into splits. They usually mean that something has drawn out the moisture from the hair, either a blow dryer, heat tool, or just dry wind, the cold outside, etc. They can be prevented by bumping up the moisture, double or triple conditioning and sealing the moisture in with either a serum or an oil.

Girl, I am also of the long torso variety and I just discovered tall sizes from the Gap online. Life changer. I bought 4 shirts, and all of them were long enough to not be belly shirts AND the sleeves were long too. Just FYI, us long torsos have to help each other out. 😉

I started trying to grow my hair when i was still underweight and dealing with anorexia and bulimia and my hair looked horrible, i was also dying it and using heat almost daily. When i started eating better and drinking water my hair got so much better! Your internal health is so important. I'm 5'7 as well so people being rude to me about their hair reaching places quicker because they are so much shorter really annoys me too. Especially since I've had soooo many set backs because of bad hair dressers. I went in with waist length hair 4 times(all different women) told them half an inch no layers and would come out with about shoulder length hair with layers and cry for days. So yeah its taken me 6 years from when i got serious about growing it but I've had to start over so many times. My other pet peeve is the ones that tilt their head back and arch their back so their head touches their butt. Like you don't have classic length hair you're just an amazing contortionist lol.

Hi Britt! Hope you are enjoying the Holiday Season! You look stunning as usual! Wow! I did not know you were so tall! So again, I commend you for being able to grow out your hair so long and you continue to be an inspiration for me! I recently posted a picture of myself on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. showing the back of my hair and it's length and I received an extremely positive response! It is really coming along in length and people really seem to like it! Perhaps, in time, I will also make a video about my hair journey! Slowly, but surely, I am catching up to you! lol! P.S.: My favorite hairstyle to wear (when just hanging around the house or sleeping) is a single back braid. Sometimes , however, I get tired and just fall into bed with damp hair and collapse....which I heard is not good to do, but I try to wear the braid most nights. However, on a positive note, my hair is becoming more and more accustomed to not using ANY hairstyling products, hair dryers or hairspray...just oils and conditioners ...and looks great! Most of the time I don't even use a brush...just a wide tooth comb! Anyway, I really enjoy your videos! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

It's a myth about protein and being vegan. You usually get more protein as a vegan. Meat comes from animals that are vegan so instead of getting it through a animal you get it directly from the source ❤️
@AE-ck5xu7 жыл бұрын
DeathBecomesHer I'd have to disagree with you on this. 1. Cows are not the only animal consumed by a lot of humans. 2. The human being is not designed to eat meat. Before we invented fire (to cook meat, because it was inedible uncooked) human beings ate a plant based diet. 3. Tons of vegetables contain more protein pr. gram than meat does pr. gram. And in addition to all of the above, plants contain loads of vitamins, where meat lack in that department as well 😊❤️
@arianamalkin1565 жыл бұрын
Amen. As long as you're eating enough calories, chances are your protein intake is normal. Been vegan for 5 years and I don't eat a 'specific' diet to get enough protein, I just eat what I want. My protein levels are still normal when I do blood draws!

Thank you so much for answering my question:) I’ve been working really hard and it’s been I also have two related problems if you wouldn’t mind giving advice on as well! I tend to have quite a large increase in hair fall during periods of high stress (finals) and I also experience this increase of hair fall when I️ try and do oil treatments and masks on my hair, especially when I apply anything to my scalp

Oh my goodness! The same happened to me (with the hairdresser). And like you, I also bawled my eyes out. But since I'm too shy, I waited until I got home to cry, since my parents were with me. It was so hard holding back the tears on the way back, and it didn't help when my sister said my hair looked ridiculous.. Haha, that was in 2015 though, so some years away. I'm actually 5 ft nothing, and it feels like my hair has barely grown since 2013. I had boy short hair back then, and now I have waist lenght hair. It feels like it's taking forever! My ends split so fast, despite trying my best not to break them. I always sleep with a braid for example, and I've been careful not getting my hair stuck inbetween my shoulders and backpack. I grew out my bangs last year, and they have grown about 11 inches - if only my hair would stop splitting, then maybe I'd have longer hair. It's ver frustrating! Anyways, thank you for always making your videos! you're my favorite hair-youtuber :) Lots of love from a person up in artic circle Norway ;)

@makeupandcoffee7 жыл бұрын
I’m right there with you with the grays. I kind of like mine though! 🤷♀️ What kind of dye are you thinking of using? And what color? Henna or a combo of henna and indigo can be pretty healthy for the hair. It’s very permanent though!!
@leslie64857 жыл бұрын
coffee&makeup I'm thinking an ash brown color or something natural. I haven't tried henna hair dye so I might give it a go! Thanks!😊
@rebekahgayle89927 жыл бұрын
Henna is good, Lush does a henna/indigo block thats brown, and its formulated with cocoa butter for good moisture as well, makes your hair super shiny. But it is very permanent. I am trying to grow mine out, I have had limited lifting success from intensive oil and honey treatments. I found that it loosened my curl pattern too much, and because my hair is very fine, I was excited about the extra strengthening and thickness, but it meant that I had more hair fall, because my hair didnt bend and move the same way, I am not totally convinced that the hair fall was a result of the henna, but reading some online forums, there is not perfect product for everyone and it could be that my hair/scalp just didnt agree. Henna is also a very messy and heavy endeavour if you have long hair, and it keeps getting more intense if you keep layering it, so you have to be careful and only do your roots for touch up or you will get crazy vibrant and dark on the ends.

TTxoxo Miller how about being patient? Hair is different for everyone so it grows at a different max length, so what I know so far (I’m not a pro) is just to eat healthy and exercising while not using heat or any harmful materials to you’re hair (another would be to avoid harmful hairstyles) , keep doing that and it’ll grow by it’s max length
@bibliophilecb7 жыл бұрын
One thing that made a huge difference for me is paying attention to my hair's protein/moisture balance. Take a single strand of hair, wet it, and try to stretch it. Does it immediately snap without stretching? You need more moisture and you need to cut out or limit protein (at least for a while). Does it stretch and stretch until it breaks? You need protein in your hair, so any sort of protein treatment or coconut oil should help. If it stretches a bit and then snaps back, your hair is healthy.

TTxoxo Miller Take wholefood organic multivitamins. Maybe your body is missing key nutrients. Also try deep conditioning your hair with a hair masque. Try Shea Moisture 10 in 1 Hair Masque & leave it on with a plastic cap for 30min & use it once a week when you wash your hair.

Soap is not at all comparable to solid shampoo (Lush etc). In solid shampoos there are common surfactants whereas soap uses saponified oils to clean the hair. Also mostly soap doesn't work with hard water. At least it didn't for me because my hair freaked out when I tried to compensate the hard water with vinegar rinses 😅 Btw if you hair grows at snail speed it takes ages to progress even if you are 5 foot something, let me tell you 🙈

I use two t-shirts sewn together! Learned it from Torrin Paige here on YT. She talks about it in this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5-2nKWXibNojZI Also, you can try putting your head near the side of the towel when you wrap instead of dead center. That will also give you more length to work with!

Cute planet shirt. All shampoos are not created equal. Sulfate, paraben and silicone-free are best, along with oil-infused blends, dry shampoos, etc. Also, I try to not wash the hair more than once a week, do not brush my hair often. Hot oil treatments are awesome. Coconut oil, in particular, is wonderful and can make even my hair look nice. Rice water rinses are awesome, biotin supplements, flax oil, B-12, E, essential oils, etc., are all great. You are so lovely. Keep up the great self-care. No more razors and fires, though. :0)

I can’t use non sulfate shampoos. It creates too much buildup on my scalp, because it doesn’t wash away all the gunk, and it irritates it.

Ilysm but IT IS NOT HARD TO HET PROTEIN AS A VEGAN. beans, tofu, hummus, vegetables, tempeh, vegan meat in general and nuts/seeds give u way more protein than u need. Most meateaters get more protein than they actually (which is not bad just not better than getting the normal amount).
