I think I would rather brush hog everything first to mulch it up, and then go back and grub out the roots left behind, to avoid leaving a big mess pile that has to be burned or hauled off. Good luck getting that stuff into a chipper. Would need a tub grinder, but those are hard to find out west. One rock does them in.
