Hey Grub! The way you forced a TP at the 38:20 was genius. That's the best way to fight a strong 5 man stack. You force a 5v4 situation after making them defend. Most of the Heralds up to Ancients don't know that play. You're actually above most of the players and an actual genius. Keep up your daily improvement. ❤️

Youre getting there, Grubby. Magnus is difficult in a sense that the hero has a great kit and is capable of doing a lot of things with it, but that it also gets you confused as to what exactly is the role you must play for the team? You can farm with empower, and scale to late game with damage items like daedalus/silver edge, bkb, and assault cuirass. Or you can build defensive/aura items like wraith pact, and guardian greaves to support your team. Or you can go full initiator with high maneuverability items like blink, force staff, euls, and shadow blade, and a refresher orb as cherry on top. Its fun hitting creeps with empower, but its also sometimes exciting (mostly disappointing/depressing) to build blink + force staff and try to channel your inner Ar1se/Collapse.

Invoker is actually brilliant design when you look at how they designed the spells to be easily memorizeable and they synergies the spells have with each other even when you have only 2 points

Tinker is the most brilliantly designed hero. He has a laser better than dagon so people dont buy dagon and all his abilities have huge backswing animations so you cannot queue them. Simple design that synergises well.

playing on magnus is primarily about the microphone. in general, any position 3 should have a microphone and say what he is going to do. Grubby ignores this and rubs off all the experience he could have taken.

Magnus has the most weirdest aghs reworks. The first was just rp cd red. The second made empower give ally buff the same as self buff and passively gave him empower permanently (i dont remember if it turned into an aura at one point). Then it made aftershock throw three lines, then gave it the pull property which he hasnow by default. I bet he will reworked again by next year.

Oh man, that was an insane game, but yeah tough draft, it can work 1 Frontline but the rest of team can't be catched alone, venom should be better farmed as well, it's interesting to note that Magnus ult can't be stopped by anything so if Luna had more damage you could've killed CK on your ult

I'm convinced that if you had chosen your own build instead of following the guide by word, the outcome would have been different. And also you would have had more fun in the game. This character reminds me of Diablo back in HotS. By the way the game progressed, I would have tried to act more as a _peeling_ champion than an _initiator_, in order to support my team. And with my limited knowledge of the game, I think I would have attempted to get that item from the Lycan game that allows you to control a creep, so the team has more HP to withstand the enemy.

Since it's your first time with Magnus maybe you could have also purchased Aeon Disk. They would have died to your teams combo but I think it was mitigated by Abaddon's aghanim scepter.

When you went bottom with haste around minute 8 , you should've RP and than skewer them on tower or close to tower , considering your E was lvl 1, instead you wasted your entire mana for Q and E and than pointless one man skewer ... The minute is 18 and there is the 1st RP in the game...tried it on one hero, still missed :D

Why have you not try the skewer into fountain. Literally the best play for magnus at 53mins of your vid and is totally fun to do if you are already losing the game. Hehe

this is a good game. But they aban counter your magnus. He can instantly wake himself and 1 another hero out of your stun. Also your team line up is too squishy with 4 low hp hero but strong at burst dps skill and opponent team have exactly counter for that. And at 45:34, it would be safe to assume that they got warded at that location to dogde your skill.

Your allies doesn't seem to know when to run away from a fight, they know how to enter but that's about it... I've seen that AA in the frontlines when he's supposed to be a backliner. Also, veno's bad mindset will only make him do bad plays, dota2 as you said, has enough comeback mechanics that gives the losing team chances, as long as the team knows when and how to use them. Anyway end of rant, good video as always.

During your hero testing in demo mode, try to practice lvl 1 minion last hitting with the hero to get the feel of there attack animation/rate/dmg espichly when you are doing an a-z challange, becouse each hero is different it's hard to form the last hit muscle memory/game sense.

Always try to play on top side of the map when Radiant team if you're the mid of the offlaner and your carry player doesn't wanna do it and wants to farm on the dangerous side or not leave his base let him do it, take the farm for yourself instead of nothing at all. This is such a nightmarish game cause the enemy team took over the map without getting contested at all

I noticed you pick your skills immediately. The best way to play is to not skill anything until you want to use it. Say you get ganked by 3 at level 1. If you didn't skill anything yet, you can simply choose Skewer and zip out. Say your teams line up for a big brawl for a bounty rune. You can pick whatever displacement effect you need and try to go for a kill. If nothing happens and the laning starts as normal, you can still get empower then at no loss.
