I finished this mission with only the sniper and pavlov alive. Instead of defending in the open, having soldiers in the basement and fighting at stupidly close range works better. kinda boring, but it works. The sniper can just lay down and do nothing. after all the german infantery has been killed, you destroy a vehicle, repair it, and use a surviving soldier to drive it and take care of the second part of the mission
