Clarkson nails it at 4.45 ... the Double Speak of trying to make sure we live to be 100, and yet economically the overall reality that old age isn't viable

Love..love...love this series! Love these guys...each and every one of them! I totally get their resentment al the loss of personal freedom...we are the last of the generations who truly knew it. It is a loss... And those who never knew it...well you can't miss what you never had. We lived for the mist part free of fear. Now we live in a fear based society.....so sad.

Brilliant & insightful men. Please give them a weekly program to voice their opinions. So great to know common sense is still alive & well if only in very limited quantities in grumpy old men & women.

Careful. In the past whenever that phrase "national treasure" is applied to someone, they usually turn out to be a nonce or similar

Every time I see that blond girl shouting shut up, my hand automatically goes back for a smack. Can any other Grumpies imagine what would have happened to us for acting like that???

If smoking is so bad why not stop all production of tobacco?why the state still earn million on smoking taxes?

Re: the public smoking issue . . . What's forgotten are those who work in the establishments you want to smoke in. Poison yourself and your own environment - but no one else should have to be subjected to working in a polluted environment. Let them find jobs elsewhere, you say ?!? Well, then - do you really think there are people who would deliberately seek out employment in smoke-filled venues where food & drink is served ?!? Highly unlikely, I should think.

Totally agree. I dread to think of the passive smoking I was subjected to before the smoking ban.

Live too long and you are too expensive, live short and you are irresponsible, Make your bloody mind up, I was on a long flight and a child with parents in the row behind me was amusing themselves by kicking the back of my seat, I thought surely they will tell the child to stop kicking the man's seat, No,I waited and after about ten minutes I asked if they could control the child? They were not happy, you would think I had done something really bad to them. They were really cross with me !!!

"We live in a state that's trying to look like it's looking out for us... But actually is doing fuck all" It's funny because it's true. It shines a light onto the absurdity of our society and if you didn't laugh you'd cry.
