Man, we saw this movie like 5+ times in theaters and almost no one was laughing, except me and my ex and an occasional nervous laugh from the peanut gallery. I live about 45 minutes from Preston Idaho where this was filmed, we aren't really this slow but it did include most of the stereotypical things about the area. Maybe including the local native americans from the shoshone bannock tribe was too risky for them, and the fact that we also have a large population of nuclear physicists and engineers etc due to the national laboratories facility, where atomic city was the first city to be powered by nuclear energy.
