1987 marked a turning point in hard rock, thanks to the appearance of Guns N' Roses and their now-classic "Welcome to the Jungle". While other bands from Los Angeles focused on women with big hair, wearing tight jumpsuits, and drug-fueled partying, GNR kept it gritty, and released a record-setting debut album.
Ten years later, Guns N' Roses lost all of their original members but one, and took a 15-year before releasing their last album in 2008, but it was a rocky ride from day one. Here's the untold truth of Guns N' Roses.

Honestly, I’d have been happier not seeing them. It was one of the most miserable concerts I've ever seen. I was upset and sad, that they ruined my childhood image of them, Slash was sloppy and I felt he was constantly rivalling with Richard Fortus, Axl sounded terrible especially at Rocket Queen, the coloured hair lady’s presence was pretty pointless, drum amplification was pure liquid crap and could carry on with the list... The only thing I liked about the concert was Richard’s playing, tho he hardly gets any attention from the crowd....

Can I add some things to this video please? Thank you by the way for the very well laid out mini documentary. Great variety of footage too. I have studied and followed this band deeply and almost relentlessly for more than thirty years. Absolutely I will admit that I was very obsessed with Guns N' Roses from mid 1989 until late 1992 and could NOT get enough of anything related to the band. Even a new article and picture in one of the rock magazines would be reason to spend more time in the store. As God as witness, if I could go back in time, I would see Guns N' Roses in concert at least ten times during the AFD era and at least 10 more times during the UYI era. For those of you who were alive and old enough to remember, 1991 was the absolute pinnacle for hard rock in the music world and with Guns N' Roses and Metallica at the center of that universe. Yes, there were other bands of course who were really big coming out with new music and long awaited tours such as Ozzy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Skid Row, Van Halen, and Nirvana to name a few. When GNR started to tour in May of 1991, all hell broke loose with people (not just me) rabid very delirious trying to figure out when the band was coming to their town to perform. There was also this subliminal vibe of are we finally going to get a "new studio record." Everything was at once knowing that Metallica was finally coming out with a new studio album shortly after Guns. There was also rumors on and off that Metallica were finished after the "Justice Tour" in very late 1988 through early 1991. The rumor was that the Justice Tour completely overworked the band and did not want to work with Jason anymore. This rumor looking back was obviously just people assuming things and or wanting to start controversies. I don't know because this was being discussed by a lot of fellow youth who were much more experience in the whole rock and metal scene than I was. But when early 1991 rolled around the official news finally came out "Metallica is working on a new album" and that meant new music to digest and most important, new touring. Guns N' Roses also lucked out really well with Gilby Clarke as he seemed to really fit well in with not just Slash, but with the band in general. As much as many people were sorry to see Izzy leave, a lot of people talked about how Gilby really fit the "rhythm guitar player" part very good. Many people think that when Axl screams "You know where you are?" in Welcome to the Jungle is referring to an incident that happened in Los Angeles. This is incorrect as the incident was actually in New York City. Sorry very much for the ramble people, I just love the late 80's and early 90's hard rock/metal bands so much and wish I could go back for a lot of different reasons. God bless you all and the very best. Thank you if your read my commentary.

Steven was a neighbor of mine for one Summer. We played together every day that he was in town. We were very close but I don't think he remembers me at all except that the song Sweet Child describes that Puppy Love. That's why I think he wrote that song. I must have been in his subconcious and he added the blurry memories to a present situation. He was already playing drums by age four. Like Brittany and MJ, he was so sweet and loving but was manipulated. I'm so happy that he's making a comeback and I think the magicians i n music may try to sabotage him again. I remember his Mom too. They were negative memories as she was selfish and addicted and would sort of stalk him. She would try to manipulate me to get access to her son.

There won’t be any new album anytime, they haven’t even sat down with each other to write , Axl once said he hated living in the mode of the Appetite album, well guess what, they all still live in that same moment, I’m a huge fan, but people call them the best band ever, I don’t think so, proof is there for all to see in albums recorded, very few, the magic was there with the original 5, once two were gone in 1991 that was the end of it all.

Are there really still people waiting for a new album? Since 2016, they haven't managed to do anything except re-record two 20-year-old songs and pull the money out of the fans' pockets with the same show over and over again. GN'R were my life and I will honor everything until 2018, but I no longer support this useless association. too little effort, too many disappointments. I'll sell my Ticket for munich because it's simply no longer worth it and they did not deserve so much support at all anymore. "Absurd" was the crown of being fooled. I prefer to remember the shows and times when you didn't know better and when the whole thing was still fun. Releases a new album or retires. Everything else is now just extremely ridiculous.

What is Guns 'n' roses today ? A big band with many useless or untalented musicians (the guy described as drummer, the lady on the synth's, Axl when he loses his voice from time to time, etc.). The magic is gone since the use your illusion tour, at least at that time they had a real rock drummer (Matt Sorum) which Axl failed to bring back for the current tour.

This just came in. gNr frontman Axl Rose is currently being accused for brutally beating former Penthouse model Sheila Kennedy in a N.Y.C. hotel in February 1989 by violently abusing her to have sex and dragging her by the hair "like a caveman". Rose's abuse on Kennedy was so violent that she has developed full brown PTSD and have distanced herself from anything gNr related in which she would cry hysterically whenever the first 8 notes from Slash's guitar of "Sweet Child O Mine" was heard. Kennedy's lawyer Dr. Ann Olivarius is representing her in this case while Rose is working with attorney Alan Gutman whom both have denied these claims. (Source: The New York Daily News, 11-23-23) Now I ask you. Do you really want to continue to listen to a rapist now you know the truth? Think about it.
