All their fears realized. Bev was afraid of her period because it meant that dad's "affections" would go from molesting to rape. She fights back after she sees the blood in the bathroom, not wanting to be daddy's little girl anymore. Bill's fear was seeing Georgie as a corpse, which he fully expected if he could have gotten someone to search the sewers for them. The rest are self-explanatory, but it makes for an amazing set of circumstances. IT3 should be awesome if they begin to flesh out the other aspects of the movie - a prequel to Georgie...lots of material there.

The scariest part of the book is that Pennywise is always with them. He taunts them verbally a lot more, and is distant from them in the film, but he's always watching, waiting. I guess that's how he understands what they fear, deep down. That's the spooky part. They allude to it in some ways, like when he's on Henry Bowers TV or when the Losers are cleaning Bev's bathroom, you can hear him singing on the TV in the background, but other than that it's not nearly as oppressive as the novel.

about the turtle around 1:00 :The story of the turtle varies among Indigenous communities, but by most accounts, it acts as a creation story that places emphasis on the turtle as a symbol of life and earth. The following versions are brief reinterpretations of stories shared by Indigenous peoples. In no way do these examples represent all variations of the tale; they merely seek to demonstrate general characteristics and plots of different stories. In some Ojibwe oral traditions, the story of the turtle begins with a flooded Earth. The Creator had cleansed the world of feuding peoples in order to begin life anew. Some animals survived the flood, such as the loon, the muskrat and the turtle. Nanabush (Nanabozo) (or Weesakayjack in some Cree tales) - a supernatural being who has the power to create life in others - was also present. Nanabush asked the animals to swim deep beneath the water and collect soil that would be used to recreate the world. One by one the animals tried, but one by one they failed. The last animal that tried - the muskrat - was underwater for a long time, and when it resurfaced, the little animal had wet soil in its paws. The journey took the muskrat’s life, but the creature did not die in vain. Nanabush took the soil and put it on a willing turtle’s back. This became known as Turtle Island, (For some Indigenous peoples, Turtle Island refers to the continent of North America.) the centre of creation. Many Haudenosaunee versions of the tale start in the Sky World - a land in the heavens where supernatural beings existed. One day, a pregnant Sky Woman fell through a hole under the roots of a tree and descended to Earth. Gently guided down by birds that saw her falling through the sky, she was placed safely onto a turtle’s back. Sky Woman was grateful to the animals for helping her. In some versions, her appreciation was so powerful that the earth began to grow around her, forming Turtle Island. In other versions, the animals brought forth mud from the bottom of the water, which grew on top of turtle’s back and formed a new land for Sky Woman and her descendants - Turtle Island. c'était la minute info ;)

I'm pretty sure Beverly doesn't find out about Ben writing her the poem until the second movie because she acts surprised when he recites it to her. Also Mike's parents are dead, so I'm pretty sure it's his grandfather who has a scrapbook of Derry's history.

My favorite part of the 1990 film was when Mike and Billy pull out that old bike from Mike's shed and ride it around like they're kid's again. That was a heartwarming moment. Our childhood goes by so fast. We can't wait to grow up, but then we miss just being a kid again. Having those kinds of moments are rare and therapeutic, in my opinion! Just saying 😂

Original was better. New one was trying to cater to teenagers and it was simply too campy and “new”. Only real issue is that there really aren’t any good screen adaptations of King’s work. The Stand was pretty decent out of all of them but his stuff really doesn’t translate into a film too well.
@TophinatorStreams Жыл бұрын
I used to be afraid of clowns, coulrophobia, from seeing glimpses of the Tim Curry version on a black and white TV in my sister’s room when I was little. After being angry and frustrated after several Halloweens, I realized I had to face this fear head on. I forced myself in my teens to watch it again, this time on my color TV in my room. 😂 I’m old. Anyway, it worked. I don’t mind It or any scary clown masks, anymore. At most, I think clowns 🤡 can look creative and gnarly, now. I hope this helps. Revisit something that scared you as a kid and conquer it.
