Sticking up for Judge when the Yankees were caught cheating against the Redsox in the playoffs after the Astros in 2018.Also the Dodgers cheat every year monopolizing the talent to their team and deferring payments to the top player and another asian pitcher who was very important in their ws title run.These athletes are all hypocrites and like to hear themselves talk.After Bellinger’s career is over he can run as a politician both full of bs.

Fried is the type of pitcher who is likely to age well. Throws hard but doesn’t rely on that. He also has a plus curve, plus slider, and plus change up.

Excellent breakdown on Fried; it’s all front end - and by the time the backend is paid, that’ll be the price range for pitching anyway b/c it NEVER GOES DOWN. As for Bellinger, I NEVER saw that clip of him throwing bullseyes on Manfred & the @$$blows, so now I like him. But, IDK man - he’s weird in consistency and not young - 2-yrs of above the Mendoza line maybe - we need a home grown to breakout @ 1st base.

Think about it this way….. Max Fried is just over 200 million plus whatever the Yanks pay for Bellinger equals 2 players that improve the team with hundreds of millions left over from the 760 that was allocated for Soto to get more players. The team will be better off not paying all that money to a single player

I'm with you, I prefer Bellinger over Walker and I wouldn't be willing to part with any top tier prospects for him. I would pencil him in at 1st and give Dominguez every opportunity to secure centre field. If Durbin is ready that's your second baseman. That just leaves right field (Tucker?) and the bullpen.

I like the signing,but ace is a it of a stretch. To be an ace, you need to be an innings eater. Innings pitched are down all over the league, but I still want my ace to be pushing 190-200+ innings. I would classify him as a top end second starter. Or a non ace number 1.

All of the players are overpaid but if your team wins the world series its worth it, right? Crazy amounts of money out there for the players to make and they should go for it if they can! My dad played in the minors in the early fifties and was given 500 dollars to sign and lasted 2 years before getting homesick, never made it out of florida class a !! Today a kid signs out of high school or college and gets at least 300 grand even if they dont last a week!! I guess they should try and get everything they can while they can still play!!

Its funny how Astros fans are so desperate to make their TEAM WIDE cheating, in a way that was not counterable by opponents, seem no different than INDIVIDUALS cheating in a way that literally every single team in the league was benefiting from. The two things are very different. Just like the Astros cheating as a team was different from when Astros in the era you're talking about were on PEDs, like Bagwell and Biggio. Literally the two best players in the franchises history, and both cheated. But being on PEDs helps you hit,adds strength, which adds bad speed, which enhances both power and contact. But you still had to recognize pitches. Knowing what pit h is coming is a FAR bigger advantage than being on PEDs. That isn't even debatable. Also, Pettitte cheated while on the Astros, not on the Yankees. He is the only one who.cheated that came across as honest when caught. He just admitted it, explained his reasoning and apologized. Stop trying to give the Astros a pass for their cheating. Just admit your franchise cheated, say it was inexcusable and move on.

I feel like Bellinger only plays up to contract time and only a few teams can survive to overpay him but is talented enough to have interest. As a Cubs fan I appreciated his first season but after that he doesn't seem worth it especially with the Cubs having lots of good prospects coming up. His late signing last season was a sign that teams still aren't sure if he is going to have a healthy/good year and since the Cubs missed the playoffs they probably would been fine without him.

Walker is actually a tick better, both offensively and defensively. Unfortunately, he's also 4 years older. And at 33, he likely to decline over the next couple years, while at 29, Bellingers is still in his prime. Doesn't mean Walker would be the wrong move, just something to consider.

The Yankees and all the other 'have'-clubs overpay for superstars. And since they have the resources, they do it anyway in spite of naysayers who say that the latter half of the contract would be hard on the club. And that is why I can only shake my head when I hear complaints of Stanton, DJ and the other players we signed long-term knowing they'll be an albatross contract later. As if there is a surefire way around this problem. Just accept reality, fans.

Sure he didn't. Lots of guys hit a homer to send their team to the WS, then are insistent nobody touch their jersey, then have 3 different excuses for it. Never mind that he knowingly benefited from the cheating. Guys on base for him who were cheating. Guys to drive him in who were cheating. And obviously there would have been times he was given the steal sign when the teams cheating let them know offspeed was coming. So even if you're right that he no ever personally cheated, he's a Mob wife. And knowingly benefiting from crimes is in and of itself a crime. If you're knowingly benefiting from cheating, you don't get to claim you're innocent of the cheating. Imagine someone says to you, lets go to a bank. They show you their plans. You decline, but then after they rob the bank,you help.them spend the money. That's a crime. Altuve is not innocent at all.

Honestly as an Astros fan i have no clue why Altuve got the MVP award because Judge had better numbers than Altuve. So honestly i wouldnt blame Altuve for that, that goes to the committee who decides that stuff. Kinda like how Rick Porcello won a Cy Young on the Tigers with Verlander and Scherzer, or how Verlander got a Cy Young in 2019 over Gerrit Cole.then go back to the 80s and ask why relievers and closer were winning Cy Young awards over starters. Go ask them why they discrimate against Rockies players for Hall of Fame but not Arizona, Kansas City, Phillies, Cincinnati, or St Louis who also play in higher elevations. So blaming Altuve for something he had no control over is stupid.
@schlootle
@schlootle 5 күн бұрын
At the time, while Judge did have a better season, it wasn't all that crazy for Altuve to win the MVP that year. There have been much worse instances where a lesser player won MVP and 2017 wasn't one of them, it was a year where outside of New York everyone else would have simply thought "Eh I would have taken Judge but I get it". But of course after the cheating scandal broke out it made it look so much worse
